Default 05 STi Engine swap into 04 WRX ?s

Ok, as far as swapping is concerned I have put hondas and nissans and the like together like legos. So many motor swaps and wiring and whatnot, enought to make you sick. And me sick if I keep talking about it. If I have a complete STi longblock, harness and ECU (USDM) What wiring would have to be done for avcs and other non-wrx electronics to work? Would the STi ECU take the harnesses from the wrx body electronics? I would like to know what else needs to be done besides the motor drop-in, ecu drop-in, plugging harnesses and turning the key...

Thanks in advance!

Do you have the matching immobilizer and key for that ECU plus an antenna?

So i would need to tape a matched key to the antenna plugged into the immobilizer, then immobilizer to ECU? Would I be able to attain these parts at my subaru dealership? Or would I be able to bypass the immobilizer altogether? I really dont need something like that. I have an alarm and kills.

You are pretty much screwed if you don't already have the exact matching ECU/Immobilizer/Key combo unless you have a VERY friendly dealer and can prove ownership of the original car. Even then you'll need a "running" car for them to plug the stuff into while reprogramming.
The only alternative to "bypass" it is to rewire the car and buy a 2004 STI ECU.

Is that correct? I thought if I had a 2004 STi ECU i could basically plug and play... Not have to rewire any pins... Even so, I am waiting to hear back from the owner of this vehicle so I could try to bargain an hour with the car so I can pull the cluster, immobilizer and antenna to make this swap go smoothly.

I have friends that work at subaru locally. The only subaru tech at the dealer is a personal friend and an advisor is my cousin... I think as far as having a few friends at the dealer no matter what I do i can get some assistance. The only thing is the mechanic really doesnt do performance or swapping or anything so when I questioned, he was looking at me like I was nuts... Maybe I can teach a subaru master tech a thing or 2. Ha ha

I have found an 04 STi ECU to use with my 05 STi engine swap. Now can anybody educate me on what needs to be changed for this to work? I am aware that there are pins on the harness that need to be changed? Wiring of some sort? Any help is great!

BUMP - OK Another update. Since I have not been able to find the information I am looking for... I found an excellent link for pinouts on ecus dating back to 1991 models to current 06/07 models. Check this link: http://www.northursalia.com/modifica...ng/wiring.html

What I did was compare the diagram from 2005 STi and 2004 STi to find the pinout differences. It boils down to these pins from the 05 STi Harness to the 04 STi ECU:

B135 PIN 26- Vehicle speed signal, switch to PIN 27
B137 PIN 17- A/C Switch, switch to PIN 16
B137 PIN 14- Ignition Switch, switch to PIN 15
B137 PIN 15- Test mode connector, switch to PIN 14
B135 PIN 27- Fuel Pump Control Unit, switch to PIN 26

With a 2005 STi harness, the 2004 STi ECU is plug and play as long as you switch these pins. Now, you have avoided having to use the immobilizer and pertaining parts.

I went through the pinout diagrams multiple times. This is what I came up with every time. If you think there are more please by all means pull up the pinouts and see if you come up with something different. I want to be sure this is correct!

The DBC ecu will not work the DBW throttle body. The DBC manifold will work on the ej257. I am switching from DBC to DBW myself. I welded in the mounts for the new pedal.
