Default Full STi engine swap into WRX

I've got an '02 that I am getting ready to rebuild. My options are 2.5L shortblock with stock heads and the VF34 that is currently on the car.....or full Sti motor swap. Money doesn't matter because they are going to be the same cost to me.

Basically heres my question can I use my WRX ECU w/ UTEC on teh STi motor or will I need to do a full ECU swap as well?

TIA

ps yes Ive searched (I hate the search engine here)

yeah you can get by w/ your wrx ecu and utec. I ran mine that way for a while, but you will be missing out on the magic that avcs provides!

Yes. The AVCS makes a big diff. I'm doing the same swap and I'm selling my UTEC for a Hydra for the AVCS control. If you're not willing to get a STI ECU with a STI UTEC, get a Hydra, or just get the STI block and put different cams in your WRX heads.
