********************* E85 TUNING DEALS *********************

Cheap Horsepower Packages!!! E85 Upgrade Packages for WRX and STI!

We literally get hundreds of calls from customers asking us how they can make more horsepower, but stay on a budget, or retain their light modifications to stay within the framework of warranty and emissions concerns. In the past we would not hesitate to recommend a race gas or Torco tune. However both of these fuels can be expensive and detrimental for your car's longevity. There is a now a new option: E85.

E85 is a blend of ethanol and premium gasoline with a net octane rating of about 105. It is also available at the pump in many states AND costs as little as $2.00 per gallon. An equivalent 104 "race" fuel would be $5-$8 per gallon.

Another advantage of E85 is that it carries additional oxygen into the combustion chamber so you can run comparatively leaner AFRs and more timing to create much more horsepower and torque on stock-sized turbos. Coupling this fuel on a WRX with a 16G or 18G turbo and even more power can be produced!

On a 2009 WRX with a Stock Turbo and upgraded TMIC we were able to make 345whp and 379wtq on an aggressive custom tune! A gain of 23whp and 40wtq over the pump fuel tune! See graph below

With the STI, Stage 4 power numbers are easily achieved with a Stage 2 E85 tune and a stock turbo and intercooler.

COBB Tuning Surgeline is now offering complete E85 upgrade packages including maps for your AccessPORT for 2002-2007 WRX and STI. (2008+ models require custom tuning at this point)

2002-2007 WRX and 2007 STI:

Deatschwerks 750cc injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump and Surgeline OTS map $599

Deatschwerks 850cc injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump and Surgeline OTS map $749

2004-2006 STI:

Deatschwerks 740cc injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump and Surgeline OTS map $699

Deatschwerks 850cc injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump and Surgeline OTS map $799

Default Add a heatshield to your E85 Package!

Want to add a little heat protection to your E85 tune? Add a COBB Tuning SS Turbo Heatshield!

COBB Tuning is pleased to announce that SS Heatshields for select Subaru models are back in stock!

The COBB Tuning stainless steel heat shield is designed in-house and a replaces the factory turbo heat shield found on most vehicles. A modification which goes hand in hand with an

aftermarket downpipe install, the heat shield prevents the heat from exhaust gas temperatures to vent into the engine bay, reducing heat soak into the intercooler.

The COBB Tuning SS Heatshield is available for 2002-2010 Impreza WRX/STI, 2005-2009 Legacy GT and 2004-2008 Forester XT.

The COBB Tuning SS Heatshield is available at COBB Tuning Surgeline NOW!!!

*for stock sized turbos

Back by popular demand! The COBB Tuning SF Intake is once again available from All COBB Tuning retails stores including COBB Tuning Surgeline,COBB Tuning Plano andCOBB Tuning.com!

The COBB Tuning SF Airbox was designed to capture the cool air supplied to the SF Intake through the factory intake snorkle. Constructed of 16 ga. Aluminum the heat shield consists of a one-piece surround, directional lid, and stainless fasteners that help reduce a loss of power that could be robbed from your motor by a heated intake charge. Unlike some cold air intakes, which places the filter in the front fender, our design helps to supply cool air through factory ducting, while eliminating the risk of water ingestion.

Comes with all necessary hardware and full illustrated instructions.

Available for:

2002-2007 WRX/STI

2005-2009 Legacy GT

*Requires the use of the COBB SF Intake system, package deals available

COBB Tuning is proud to announce the release of BETA support for 2010 Forester XT AccessPORT. Those looking for an immediate solution for datalogging, live monitoring and ProTuner support can update their current AccessPORT AP-SUB-003 or purchase a new unit and update it to the latest BETA firmware.

ProTuning is currently required from select ProTuners using the BETA software, with Off The Shelf maps and AccessTUNER Race becoming available once BETA testing is completed in the near future. This new release is just the beginning of unlocking the secrets of the newest Subaru platform. Look for more and exciting announcements from COBB Tuning in the very near future!

Default Legacy e85?

Do you offer any services for Legacy GT owners who want to run e85? Is it possible to switch between normal gas and e85 on the fly using an accessport?

Vitamin_G-

We can definitely set you up to run E85. Give us a call at 503-670-9500 if you would like to set up an appointment for labor and a tune.

As far as switching on the fly, it is not that simple. To switch between different fuels, you will have to completely drain your tank of one fuel and fill it with the other. We can show you this process as we drain your tank.

Thanks!

Can't you just have 1 map for e85 and 1 map for 92/93, then when you get super close to empty fill up on the other kind of gas and switch maps? Or would the tiny bit of remaining other fuel mess up the tune enough to make a difference?

I am curious about this aswell because, in a month or so, I want to go stage 2 on e85 with the option to switch to a more easily attainable fuel map if I'm in an area that has no e85 available.

I have never used an AP, but tuning between E85 and 92 on a SAFC, I can tell the difference when there's not 100% one fuel or the other.

I'd be more interested to know how the tune accounts for E70 winter blend and E85 summer blend, as this would produce the same variance as not having all one fuel type in the tank.

You have to drain as much existing fuel as possible when switching.

Stage 2 Packages are still available! Give us a call for a full quote.
