Unhappy dcmomentum...every thread doesn't have to be about you

EDIT: BacDoc, I'm sorry for any disrespect in this thread...certainly none intended...you have my deepest condolences for your loss.

I found what you posted in BacDoc's thread rude, distasteful and borderline offensive.

Here we have a thread that was about BacDoc's friend, and what BacDoc has been going through due to his friend's passing. Every other post besides yours was offering sympathy, condolences and well wishing.

Your post contained not one shred of sympathy or condolence, was all about you, your situations, and...did you actually try to elicit sympathy for yourself????

Everything doesn't have to be about you, okay?

I took this rant out of BacDoc's thread since it obviously doesn't belong there...but I though you should know how callous, shallow, selfish and self-centered you came across, besides rude and distasteful.

Maybe I'm reading it way wrong...but his post seemed like a dimented version of Sesame Street's "One of these things is not like the other".

I found it in poor taste.
And dispite my angry tone...I'm not really trying to slam dicmo, but rather tell him how he came across.
If I came across rude and distasteful...I'd want to know.

Are you an idiot? It's called empathy. I didn't try to elicit sympathy for myself, being that I have never experienced this loss. I stated that I don't know how I would cope with it personally, meaning that this must be a very hard thing for someone to go through.

Oh, and I just talked to BacDoc, he doesn't take the slightest bit of offense to my post. Evidently it's just you.

Remember - not every post by Dicmo is about Dicmo. He said things about another member's family, remember?

I kinda got that same impression, Doctor Dr Um.

But then, I took the high road and decided against calling him on it.

I'm okay with dicmo.

Yeah, let's start an internet fight! BacDoc's loss is pretty hardcore, I think that losing a friend would be one of the hardest things someone would go through. So much so that I can't even imagine it.

The fact that either one of you would get upset over a thread on Nasioc amuses me. Veteran Otters should no better.

Know! I'm not upset about anything. Just wondering why the hell someone would try to infer something that isn't there.

FWIW, man, like I said above I kinda got the same impression with your comments in that thread. I figured you meant to add something like "I can't imagine how hard this is for you" or something like that, though.

Word to the wise: empathizing can sometimes be mistaken for egocentrism when the connection isn't clearly made between what you're saying and what the other person is feeling.

All of that is fine. I'm glad he found no ill in it.
I'm sharing how you came across.

Here's the thing...
I'm not trying to slam you, I was just sharing how your post struck me.
Honestly. If your post had any comment of sympathy, my whole comment would be moot. You and I haven't seen eye-to-eye in the past, but I've conceded to let bygones be. Plus, I think you're a better person than I had originally pegged you .

I figured, you being a person to constantly strive to improve yourself and your life, and being a tough skinned person, you'd want to know how you came across. I know I would. I didn't find any empathy in your post. And the eliciting your own sympathy bit...well, that's why I had ???? after it...

If I'm the only one who saw this...I sincerely apologise. Really.
