Default 04 Sti steering rack into an 02 WRX

I've done the search and have not found the answers.

Is this a direct fit replacement.
Do I need to replace the pinion with the rack?
I have ordered just the steering rack and was needing to know if I need the pinion also.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Don

"Rack and pinion" refers to the internal configuration - everything's inside one box. It attaches to the stock steering column u-joint.

If I were you I'd replace the mount bushings with some nice urethane ones while you're under there. You will also need a bottle of fluid to complete the swap (it's ATF - may as well step up to a synthetic e.g. the Motul 1 ATF).
