![]() I tore out my stock IHI VF48 turbo to do a swap. Turns out the replacement turbo has a chip on the compressor side turbine. I also installed a tomei turbo inlet tube!
So now the car is sitting in the garage in pieces! |

![]() Installed the snow performance meth kit for my rotated setup. I put it in the spare tire well. Had to cut out that bump first. Hammered out the well in two spots. Carved a contour into some foam and then strapped down the tank. Ran the lines and got most of the wiring done. The top panel fits over the tank with about 1/2 inch to spare. I’m going to build a metal frame so that when closed, I can still put stuff in the trunk.

![]() In the last few days I have swapped out my brakes to StopTech slotted rotors, performance pads, and ss braided lines, installed a Invidia Q300 CB exhaust, added a vortex generator, and installed a CS style front lip. Its been a busy couple of days, but the car is finally getting to were I want it.

![]() When I got my 2.5RS it came with Forester wheels on it for some reason.
A few days ago I got and installed WRX rims, and got new tires all around. In the next week or so I'll be doing better break pads. Then I think I'll need to do the struts soon, the rears are leaking a tad, or should I replace struts first then do break pads. I mean, the car stops and all. |

![]() Inspect the pads at least for remaining friction material thickness and absence of extreme amounts of taper wear and let that be your guide.
A little late this time, but changing (or rotating) tires is a great opportunity to make at least a quick and dirty brake inspection. Norm |

![]() Got my WRX and STI a new to me home.. it's got a large attached finished garage and I absolutely love it. Been giving the garage my finishing touches (epoxy floor, large LED overhead lights, new wifi enabled garage door openers, new shelves, workbench, etc etc) the last few weeks and hope to finish by end of the month.

![]() Changed spark plugs and decided to do a leak down test as well: 4% on cyl 1 and 2, 8% on cyl 3 and 4. Not bad for 98k miles.. I think. Could be worse!

Which muffler delete did you get? I paired it with the double wall burnt tips. Somehow, this mid pipe is more quiet than the stock especially on idle IMHO but it does have a nice roar when you step on it. |

![]() Oil and filter change, added winter -20 washer fluid.
Bled brake fluid & added fresh clean fluid, topped off coolant. Rain X'd windshield. Washed car. Fresh coat of wax. Resurfaced headlights. Rotated tires. Properly torqued lug nuts. Checked tire pressures. Drove 80 mile round trip to pick up some business related items. Several hours later rechecked the tire psi and hit up the lug nuts again to ensure all torque specs are still in range. Kind of an over-achiever. She's almost ready for winter. |

![]() I started to drive to Virginia City in my 02 WRX wagon this afternoon, I got about halfway and my TMIC coupler came loose. I lost boost and drove home very slowly. I fixed the coupler back to the intercooler and tightened it up. I tried the drive again, and everything held up fine (my rotors did get a little warm towards the end). I had a blast.

![]() Thanks; I never would have guessed.
Is it brighter than OE or is there some other advantage? Norm |

![]() Thanks again.
If I do this, I'm wondering if I might want to put it on a toggle-switch arrangement so that it doesn't have to illuminate every time the car is in reverse (potentially attracting unwelcome official attention). Many moons ago I adapted a fog light to improve reverse lighting in dark areas, so there's a chance I might actually do this. Norm |
