i have been talking to my local dealership daily for a few reasons. they are trying to get me into a 2021 wrx quickly to avoid lawsuits(from me)....i dont want it because of the rumors of the 2022

so i asked point blank..."is the 2022 getting a bigger engine or boosted power?"
his response
"i cant confirm numbers, but yes"

This thread is utterly useless. That’s pure speculation from the salesman as dealerships don’t know anything about the next-gen WRX’s development details at this point in time.

Can this thread be removed now?

Vague statement is vague

Don't trust people at the dealership. You really think Jimbo from sales has the inside scoop? Saying that it'll have more power is practically a given at this point. So technically Jimbo isn't wrong, but that still doesn't tell us anything that we don't already know. That's like predicting that MSRP will rise too, which it does every year.

FWIW, Subaru is one of the most conservative automakers out there. Practically all of the car "blogs" or tabloids were so damn sure that the new BRZ was going to get a boosted FA24 and look what we got instead I can guarantee you that outside of a relatively small group of people within Subaru itself, there is no one out there who can claim that they know what the new WRX/STi will bring to the table, and certainly not random people at the dealership who typically aren't privy to that type of information until it's practically announced to the public already.
