I don't get it? Has your car been at the dealership for a year? I must have missed the story on this one

a dealershp told me they could put the motor in, in 2 days. so i took the car to them....
they broke my bumper trying to push it with something and then proceeded to have it for an entire year.... i went down 6 times, this second to last trip down i told them they had a week.. and i was gonna get it no matter what... still wasn't done.. so i picked up the car and took it home.
fixed it myself.. the entire year they had it they worked on the car 12 hours.... oh i was so mad.

i've already lawyered up and i'm getting ready for a big battle over this.

Wow! That is brutal.

I've seen service departments "forget about" cars, but 1-year is off the chart.

If you manage to stick it to them let us know.

IMO one Edmonton dealership in particular could use some serious prodding over their business practices...

NIce to see its back on the road Sean. So how long did you have to work on it to get her back together? Are you really going to take them to court? They told me last time I was there, you had some sort of arrangement for after hours working on it. BUt then again.....my car sat there for 2 months when they finally figured out my m.a.s. was sending garbled info, lol. Good luck with the battle buddy!

i missed a few questions here i see!

sean: they switched mechanics but it was still getting done on business hours. it took me 2 evenings of working on it... but that included the sti motor mounts and tranny mounts.

banana guy: lol edmonton is heaven compared to grande prairie!!!!!! trust me i've been to both.

and zuffy: installed the suspension today it actually sits lower than i thought it would.. can't wait to try it out on a track.

bezerk: no tickets... but i haven't really flogged on her down the highway yet! as soon as i do that.. then the tickets come rolling in. i got one in my diesel the other day.

Sweeet, let me know how you like it. All this talk in the suspension forum of STi struts and Pinks being a great suspension setup makes me want those struts back.

Ach, a year?!?
That's retarded in the worst way possible. At least you got it back though Smoke Show.

Btw, a buddy of mine was telling me that for about $12g cdn, you can get a complete STi V8 driveline, from motor to tranny, to rear diffs, to brakes, to suspension. I know it's a good chunk of cash, but it would make for a hell of a unique MY02.

something to consider.....

Figure about 13k. Then subtract around 3 or 4k for sale of WRX driveline. All depends on US dollar and condition of driveline as recieved...

i'd love to but i just plain don't have 12grand.... i've been retired now for 6 months.
all i know though is my next motor is a 2.5 thats getting built.. i need 700-800whp!! and i dunno if the sti rear end can take that or not.

all i know for sure is i gotta keep up with the rx-7 and the skyline and there both 600hp.

retired?!?
Guy, you're my age!

The Skyline will be easy to beat. I've taken a few R32 GT-R's with my stock turbo. The FD will be a bigger problem though. We can take them off the line, but damn, once we're moving they're gone.

700hp makes my pants twitch.

There is no way you could have taken a stock R32 GTR on stock turbo even with all the bolt ons and UTEC. The GTR is fast on the straights, the SLKAMG coudl not even keep up on the straight and it has rentech pulley love on it and that car is faster than mine. I think they might not have been racing you or it was a GTS-T

hypa (i think thats battlewagon) i know was praised at boundry airport races for being fast on a stock turbo. might be lucky.

but the rx-7 runs a 10 and i'm pretty sure the skyline will next year as well.. a 10 second 1/4 is freaking fast.

is there even a 10 second subaru in canada?

okay guy, believe what you want to believe. Especially if it makes you feel better that your STi isn't much faster than a WRX.

STi drift?
Is there even such a thing?

I know the stock turbo is small, but it's well suited to the 2.0L motor. Taking into account the great launch capabilities of the AWD, if you can run even mid-low 13's on the street there's a good chance you can beat almost any other car out there. Even the fabled Skyline

If that's the case, then you're talking a different story. A 10 second 1/4 is amazingly fast. Are these even street driven anymore?

yup! although i don't know how often the rx-7 will be driven just cause the guy can't make it into his apartment parking lot.. its too bumpy so he has to park it at his parents. haha
