Think of it like this:

1. Pick up the bar
2. do a Power clean
3. dip into a Front squat
4. drive back up into a Push press
5. with bar at top of push press move bar to back. Then do a Back Squat
6. Drive bar back overhead into a Push press
7. with bar at top of push press, move bar to front of you and lower close to the ground (without touching)
8. That's 1 "set"
9. Repeat for the remaining 6 "sets", that's one round. You may put the bar down now. You've got 4 rounds to go.

I've been X fitting for about 6 months... I love to hate it.

Double-unders are the bane of my existence

I hate bears. We did them a few months back and I decided that if I ever see a real bear, I'll kill it on principle.

Did anyone else see the beastmodaldomains post today?

http://beastmodaldomains.com/2011/10...umbass-client/

My gym owner posted it on her FB and said "Oooohhhhh.... THIS just made my day. Great big lolz...."

She also commented "It's so so so true... I'm kind of hoping I have certain clients that read this and recognize themselves... is that wrong?"

Well, apparently it really pissed some members off - members who I know, and don't recognize as falling into ANY of the categories mentioned.

I'm just flabbergasted that people can get so butthurt over something on the 'net.

CrossFit definitely brings out the defensive in people.

Chill out. It's just exercise.

Enjoy. You are probably going to wonder how other people make some of these things look so easy. I felt like a total derp for the first month. There are some moves (like doubleunders) that I still can't really do well.

That doesn't only apply to CrossFit. That same list goes well for powerlifting too. Me - I tend to cherry pick even though I know I should do the stuff I suck at.

I like watching big guys or newbies doing handstand push-ups.

Did my first of three introductory privates to learn standard workouts today. Learned how to do overhead squats, front squats and back squats. Also did a refresher course on kettlebells as it's been a couple years since I've had my hands on one.

Also did:

3x
--
200m run
10 OHS w/ 15 lb bar
15 KB swings (not sure weight)

Nice job, Whitford!

Last night we did:

2x 5 Min AMRAP

5 Presses
3 OH Squats
1 Rope Climb

I got 4 rounds plus 8 reps for both heats. I'm happy because I did Rx which was 95 LB for both the press and OH squat. For some reason, on my second round doing the rope climb I got a very sharp pain along my pelvis every time I clamped my feet around the rope almost like I pinched a nerve or something so I had to resort to doing 6 pull ups on the rope (reach up and grab rope as high as you can, pull up so your head passes your hands).

Whitford, it comes quicker than you expect it to - I was sure I'd never get the kipping pull up, but they're a fave now...just be patient and don't get discouraged. Have fun.

I'm doing Grace tomorrow as part of the Barbells 4 Boobs fundraiser. Last time I did it was May 7, about 2 months in. 95# 6:26 time. Hoping to go 115# tomorrow and the same or faster time, we'll see...

I haven't visited OT in awhile and forgot about this thread.

After 2 years of CrossFitting dropping into 40+ boxes around the country making revision after revision of our business plan. My business partner and I opened our Affiliate last Monday.
Its really great to see the community growing and new people trying it everyday.
