https://datazap.me/u/undyjr/checking...ta=11-12-17-20 Here's a log after a ride along with my tuner. Is it still conservative? Overly so?

It could be that the tuner advanced the timing where it is running rich, and retarded it where it's running lean, leading to a conservative tune, but this is a pretty sloppy way to tune, and won't result in the best power output. All tunes should start with a well-calibrated MAF. In any case, no knock is a good sign. I haven't been following your posts. What are your mods? Do you have an aftermarket intake that could be making MAF calibration tricky? 24psi of boost to redline is kind of surprising. You have a non-stock turbo or just a really good intercooler? |

There is a pretty large spread from calculated to Actual AFR, which certainly points to MAF scaling. Since you're spraying Meth it kind of compounds the issue. I'm not that proficient on Meth injection but I would assume the relation from Target to Actual would be the opposite of what you're seeing unless the tuner is actually using large doses to actually supplement the fueling system. Just seems like a lot that can go wrong if the meth stops flowing. What fail safes are you employing?

I'd swap to an ETS or PRL intake if you have to run an intake, I would also expect richer AFR in relation to commanded due to the meth.
Look into the blown engine thread, there are a lot of reports of engine grenading with the COBB Big SF intake. |

Is there a specific reason with these cars I shouldn't take it to 7k or are you just giving a general recommendation? Thanks for the feedback. |

Ok that makes sense.
Here's the new log with default parameters plus commanded fuel. https://datazap.me/u/violentleaf/3rd...ta=5-7-8-16-20 |

I definitely don't see "a lot" of power difference. Pulls are not harmonious in RPM either. One is short. The other is shorter. Tighter AFR and better boost control as well as the absence of knock on the Phatbotti tune.

FA20 COBB Logs - Post Yours Here!
Quote:
Only one log even has MAF g/s. One has more PSI of boost pressure average but considering you have no idea of the conditions it doesn't tell you much. One is probably making more power than the other but the other is doing it much more reliably. My car will fluctuate from 275-245 g/s depending on the weather. There are a few tuning aspects that involve g/s and calculated load that can alter the outcome. Only the tuner would know these things though. Undy for all we know your logged MAF g/s could be lower than the actual. Last edited by ericdet; 11-07-2017 at 01:57 PM. |
