Hey my buddy has an up pipe that he will give me.. Lol but didn't know if it would be worth putting on if the rest of my exhaust is stock... And the brand is a bell mouth?? Haven't heard of them.. Any input would be great!!

I'm a noob but isn't bellmouth the type, not brand.

Edit - also free is always good if he's just "giving you the pipe" why not.

catless uppipes are worth it even if stock, if that cat breaks up it goes straight into the turbo, plus gives a little faster spool. as far as the brand...a "bell mouth" is usually referred to as a type of DOWNPIPE style, not uppipe or brand.

either way free is always good

Up pipes were a hassle in my MY02. I had one fail in the flex pipe, had a cast iron TXS unit that would never seal and went through many gaskets over the years. Make sure it didn't cause the previous owner any issues, and definitely replace all the gaskets you touch, otherwise you'll be hunting down leaks.

Yeah, get the brand. Bellmouth is a type. I think there were a whole line of Grimmspeeds that failed after 6 months or so.

Edit: Removing the stock up pipe means you're removing one of the cats. You may fail emissions, FYI.

I don't know if you will fail emissions, but it will throw an EGT code, which is easy to mechanically suppress.

Post the pic. If its a bellmouth its a downpipe. or your friend is mixed up. The uppipe has an egt plug in it. you can do a resistor mod to take care of that if you don't plan on tuning anytime soon.
