Is anyone know a good place for dyno tune ecu reflash shop around LA?
And how much is the average cost for a stage 2 tune?

There are no places in SoCal that know how to tune Subies. Don't believe me? Well, use the search button and see for yourself.

you dont need ecu reflash dyno tune. Just get exhaust, intake, boost controller, and all the boltons.

Don't listen to the forum heckle squad.
Call the guys at HB speed in Huntington Bch.
They will tell you what you need.
Not the chattiest guys, and they wont hold your hand and show you stuff.
But when you leave, your car will be right, and it will Haul Ass.
I got 265 whp and 350 lbs + on my stock td04 after my tune.

i have seen too many subies go out with low compression, motor seize. then go check the dipstick and doesnt even read up to the low mark, hoses being disconnected, mods being put on without tunes, etc.

i wouldnt blame all things that go wrong on tuners. half the time its the owner at fault.

A tuner shouldnt have to freaking check your dipstick to make sure the oil level is up to par.....unless asked to do before the tune.

if you cant check your own oil level.......then im speechless...

My comment on Church, a good friend of mine with a scion xb went the supercharger route and proper mods church presented to my friend. 1 week later, blown motor. Who is to blame? The ****ty scion sb that shouldnt be supercharged? or Churches horrible tuning???

in this case, i would probably blame the stupid sb for even being supercharged. Just like i would blame the low oil level for the low compression or bad motor. Or the 400whp subaru thats still on stock pistons..........

if timing, afr, and proper fuel trims with correct boost levels are the way it should be, then how do you blame the tuner? If you dont know **** about tuning, then how do you blame the tuner as well???

good points gully, i agree with ya.

what is a scion sB? i havent heard of that, i know of the xA, xB, tC, xD.

the scion branded superchargers (made by vortech) were/are notorious for blowing up, not sure if that happened to your friends car, and then the engine got tweaked as a result of the s/c blowing?

XB

not sure what name brand supercharger it was. either vortech, or trd. Used scion tc injectors and low boost. made 40whp gain over stock. and then boom.

^ ahhh, gotcha. i thought it was a special model i didnt know about,

im pretty sure TRD just put their badge on the Vortech Supercharger. anyhow, that sucks about the engine. as we all know, nothing is ever 100% safe once we start modding.

btw, i dont have any beef with hb speed, i had them help me out when i was in a pinch to get my downpipe swapped out. i would have done it myself at home in LB but i was hecka short on time. i have a couple friends who were tuned there that had issues with their tune, but the same can be said for any tuner, i know people who were tuned at other shops that had issues too.
