You can get out of that i believe. Its like if they write down the wrong license plate you can get out of parking ticket. So, you could say something like..."There is reason to believe that the officer confused your vehicle with another" There is a reasonable doubt that this ticket may not refer to your car.

IANAL of course

Looks like they spotted a concept car from Chevy...

First GM takes WRX wagon and calls it the 92-X. Now they are taking the whole damn car name! Damn you GM

Yes, but if the ticket refers to a car incorrectly, the ticket is therefore nullified.

^^^what he said (vin and tag might outweigh the eff up)...but funny non-the-less

Last time I got pulled over the lady officer said..."this is a scion right"?!!

I replied..."oh, now you are going to insult me...haha" (I don't recomend this response, unless you too have a badge)

Didn't work.

I got a ticket once, and the officer completely described me incorrectly, and when I brought it up in front of the judge, he said, "Was she talking to you? Then it doesn't matter."

Nope, sure doesnt. They had my name completely wrong on a ticket and when I went to court "sure" that it would get thrown out, the judge simply shrugged off the mistake. I even questioned the judge about it and basically it came down to.... no matter what is wrong, as long as the officer is present and is able to identify you, you stand guilty until proven innocent regardless, heh.

I was eventually found in contempt and my fine raised because I wouldnt give in. I don't recommend trying it and pushing the issue.

You live in VA though. Also, that's a problem with the ticket not with you.

*shrug* I say the cop screwed up so you get off. We'll have to see how it works.

It's like if the police get a search warrent to search a house and then later it is discovered that the house number on the paperwork was wrong, but that the right house was indeed searched.

In that case the Warrent IS still valid becasue it was a honest mistake in good faith and that the error was admistrative in nature and had no real effect on the events.

The officer could have written that it was a Ferrari for that matter, at the end of the day it doesn't really matter.

I'm pretty sure that parking tickets and moving violations have some different rules applying to them. Ive had parking tickets thrown out because of inaccuracies but my speeding ticket didn't even though there were a few mistakes
