Default What struts to go with Prodrive Springs?

I recently bought an 06 WRX TR and the mod bug bit before I even bought the car . I have seen nothing but good comments on the Prodrives as the perfect DD while increasing performance over the stock spring and also lowering the car to a resonable level. My question is are Prodrive Springs safe AND effective to put with stock struts? Or is there struts I should couple with them? I'm just looking for the perfect DD set-up with some performance, as I may track the car a few time but not enough to justify a uncomfortable DD ride. Thanks

KYB GR2's for 'as close to stock ride as possible'
KYB AGX for a more sporty stiffer ride + adjustable.

Those two seem to be the most popular around the Suby camp.

My 'results' with the Prodrives and KYB GR2's.

The ride is a tad stiffer than stock, brake dive, acceleration pitch, and body roll are all greatly reduced. Little harder initial shock when hitting a bump,
but it settles down immediately (no bouncy bouncy). I love em.

They are designed with the stock struts in mind and will work well with them. You could replace the stockers with Konis or Tokico D specs if you wanted to.

I just installed them on my 07 WRX Limited stock struts last week and I love them! These springs are perfect for a daily driver...handling is WAY improved, the drop is perfect, and the ride is not too harsh...just right.

After the install you will need an alignment...set it to -1.3 to -1.5 camber up front, and 0 degrees toe all the way around if you want to take full advantage of the new springs. You will also have to re-aim your headlights as well as these springs lower the front some.

Couple these springs to a new set of front/rear sway bars & end links and you'll have a monster on your hands!

^^thats the same color I have, looks just mine. It looks like a great drop! With this drop is putting a V-limited Lip on there a bad idea? or is it not bad, I dont go over many speed-bumps or bad driveways.

I was thinking about a V-limited lip myself, but the front is so much lower now so I don't know anymore. My WRX is a daily driver afterall, and up here in Mass we do get a lot of snow.

I had prodrives on AGX's for a while on my wagon and I loved the AGX's. In fact, the tanabe coilovers I'm on now are just a KYB AGX body with a threaded bit for the spring seat.

Here you guys go. Prodrive springs and V-Limited lip. On stock struts for about a year with no problems.
I have scrubbed the lip a few times. As long as your careful, it shouldn't be a problem.

first i apologize for being off topic on your thread but i wanted to ask how is it with the prodrive springs/stock struts when you guys have say 5 people in the car... or just a heavy load of luggage or something?

BTW, i heard nothing but good stuff about d-specs struts, get them at CVR.
thanks everybody.

No need to apologize. With someone in the back seat, it occasionally scrubs on big bumps at highway speeds. Luggage isn't aproblem at all.

As for the Prodrive/D-spec combo... I don't have any personal information. But I am leaning toward this setup when my stock struts go out. Subiesport installed this combo on their Project 06 wagon.

when you say scrubs, does that mean you bottom out, hit the bumpstop, or the tires rub against the fender? anybody else have these issues?

It doesn't bottom out or hit the bump stops. Not really sure what it is. Just makes a very light scrubbing noise. It's so light of a noise, you have to turn off the radio and not talk.
Nothing to worry about.

Everyone compliments me on how good my car rides and handles. Remember, bigger sway bars will stiffen the ride a little bit.
