Default 9" wheels on a wagon

I see plenty of info on 8" on the wagon, but I was wondering if 9" is do'able for autocrossing on the wagon.

Rolling the fenders, maybe a little pulling, stiff as hell suspension... is it do'able?

yea you can deff do it if your dedicated im running 17x8 with +48mm offset with a 245/45/17 tire and olny rub a little on hard bumps, you should be able to get a 17x9 with +42mm offset with a 255/40/17 or maybe even a 265/40/17 tire.

9" wide.

I'm starting to think 17x9 would just be too much wheel for my little fenders to contain. I only want to put 245/40 on there. I want the 9" for the steering response I would get with it for my AutoX experience.

It fits. I have 17x9+45 with 245s. BUT I would really suggest a slightly lower offset like +40 or maybe even +38. With +45, there isn't enough inboard clearance and I can't get enough negative camber.

slight hijack:

what is your suspension setup one this...i'm looking at running 235/45/17 on a 17x8 +48 on my 06 wagon as my auto-x setup (prodrive springs, -2.0 f & -1.7 r camber and rolled rear fenders)

my 225/40/18 on 18x8 +45 street setup just barely rubbed before i rolled the rears...on slight rub marks (glazing) after an hour drive on the freeways out to get the rolled

i would like to to stay 235/40 but i'm just running practice days for fun so tires are something i would like to buy used for now until i become serious (234/45 seems to be a common used size around here)

bran808 had 18x10 +35 grids with 255s on his wagon. so yes, it can be done. no sedan rear fenders either.

Yeah, but look at that rear fender!! I've still been wondering how to do that.

The other thing is that he had Federals, I think my 245s are wider than his 255s.

Shagon Wagon doesn't have sedan rears either, but the amount of bodywork put into it makes the same width if I am not mistaken.

There is also a difference of fitting wheels/tires just to have big wheel/tires and getting them so the alignment specs are usable and the car drives well. You know that... come on.

The 02-07 wagon really can't handle much width in the back, those fenders are pretty narrow. Especially you guys who like to push offset and wheel width for aesthetic purposes, you have very limited tire fitment even with minor fender work.

if bran808 had the federal 595rsr, they run wider than advertised. i've never seen a 255 being that flush with the lip of a 10" wheel, there's very little stretch to that tire!

any wheel/tire setup can be done if the owner is willing to do what it takes to get it done i'm just using bran808's setup as an example of what can be done on a wagon with stock fenders.

Based on the tread pattern, it doesn't look like the RSR. Maybe the regular 595.
