Not Necessarily a Perfomance mod... but comfort and convenience.

Just got the Center Arm Rest today and I must say..its a PERFECT MATCH to the interior.. $79 Shipped from Amazon... Great quality.. the Leather matches perfectly and the stitching is dead nuts on to the OEM..

It will make traveling ALOT nicer...thats for sure..

That armrest is pleasing to the eyes.

What is the stock LSD lacking that makes this one so appealing to you? I'm reading up on performance LSD's right now, so I have an idea. I guess I'm just wondering if it's one of those glaring flaws for you since you autox often. Is the stock LSD really a TBD?

Is the new one clutch or mechanical?

And here's an example of mechanical or torsens least favorable trait: it can be open

Quote:
However, if one set of wheels loses traction completely, the Torsen differential will be unable to supply any torque to the other set of wheels. The bias ratio determines how much torque can be transferred, and five times zero is zero.

^^^^ Thats it...Thanks Greg ... If I am going to try and win...not just show up... I want to have the car as prepped as possible.. No excuses... that has always been a goal. Right now I don't have a issue with inside tire lift.. Hopefully if I ever do..THIS will take care of it..

This car has been a Bucket list item I have wanted to do for a long time... I have autocrossed for 14 years now.. and would like to think I am a OK Driver..The level of prep going into this build goes along with That Bucket list thing I have. I had a RS...A STi and my Speedwagon...The BRZ is the first car I can truly say that I got that Solo was going to be its primary purpose. I am building this to the FULL limit of the rules and expect nothing but the Best.. yes its kinda expensive... But Pay to Play..right???
My goal was and still is to have the most developed 86 in the country.. so far I think I have achieved that..

So why the BRZ over the FT86? The FT is cheaper and doesn't have the heavy luxo-stuff...

Brand loyalty... and I like the 'amenities' better on the Subie..18lbs is not that big a deal.

Everybody be waitin' on headers!

So apparently having aftermarket steering rack bushings made of aluminum will kick one's car out of Stock and STX? I plan on making this season my first autox season, but I'm getting the TiC steering rack bushings. I'm also ordering other bits from Whiteline and Cusco just to clean up the slop a bit. It's just a shame that my first season won't even be STX.

I'm assuming your mods are carefully planned so as to keep you in STX, Scooby?

Correct... I, as well as a few others will be at the legal limit of the rules..for the most part.. to give ourselves every advantage we can..

Rack bushings are allowed.. but has to have the same amount of metal/rubber/urethane content as stock.. meaning the Rubber/urethane can be stiffer than stock.. so.. waiting on TIC or someone to actually have the Whiteline ones in stock..
and Yes Header is holding me up for sure.. want a 'matched' system all the way thru... makes sense right???

With something small like that you can just go to your local competitors in STX and ask if they care if you run in the class with that mod. I can pretty much guarantee no one will care.
