Default Tow Strap Installation HELP

Hey guys,

I'm the owner of a 2011 Subaru Impreza and have had a tow hook on my car for a while now.

I really like the look of the Sparco tow straps but am not sure if there's an easy way to install them (I'm not looking to actually use it).

I've seen people use really long screws and pieces of threaded rod,

but I feel like there has to be a better way to do this aside from removing my bumper to get at it.

Any and all comments are appreciated,

thanks guys.

why? does it break down all the time? you really shouldn't be towing a subaru; you need a flatbed truck installed on your bumper instead. much trend! so car racing car!

Sounds like he just wants it for the looks...

Personally I'd say save your money and don't bother, but if you really just want it for the looks, find something to zip tie it to behind the bumper and let it hang useless in the wind.

Why do you need to remove the bumper?

Don't you just pop that piece out and thread it in?

Clearly you weren't listening when I said I want it strictly for looks...

Don't really see an issue with it if it's truly just for looks.

Can't say I agree with it, but hey at least you're not trying to convince yourself or others that you NEED it for some other reason besides looks.

Agreed,

almost everything that I have on my car aside from the exhaust system is purely for aesthetics.

At the end of the day it’s only a 2.5i ***128546;

Thanks for your advice broski

Default Yellow Zinc Bolt in Tow Strap Hole

So I asked around and it seems like the best way to install the tow strap that I want is with a hex cap screw.

I work at a fastener distributor and even we don't sell the bolt that I need (M16 x 1.5 x 120-130mm S/S).

Unfortunately the closest that I can get to Stainless Steel is yellow zinc.

Yellow Zinc will rust over time,

I'm just curious if it puts my car at risk of rusting quicker/will the bolt get stuck or corrode from being screwed in with outside weather conditions.

THANK-YOU IN ADVANCE

In addition to this,

I'm definitely willing to swap out bolts with a new one every six months or so seeing as I can get them for a couple dollars each.

Idk man, zipties don't rust.......

If you're really worried about whatever bolt you're gonna put in there rusting, just glob on about an entire bottle of anti sieze on the threads and it'll outlast the car itself.
