Good one,! LOL ! But, No I really need someone to help me get the dash mount switch part number. I am going to a few Subaru dealers and see if i can actually see if there is a part number on the back of the switch from the fog lights kit.

I went to a few Dealers in my area, but none of them are willing to open the package cause they do not want to mess up the packaging and then they cannot resell it.

Default Rear fog lamps

Hello everyone. Just joined this forum today to see if anyone could help me find the rear fog lamp for a regular 2011 Impreza sedan. I live in Panama so they ship the 1.5R version and the rear bumper has some black caps and it is a bit different from the US version like in the picture I have attached here.

I have seen it for the regular wagon version of the Impreza

I don't think it even exists for the regular Impreza and it is just available for the WRX STI version

Yes, that fog lamp exists. Imprezas with this rear bumper and the rear fog light were available only in a few countries, for example in Israel.
Here is the link for the Impreza that is just being dismanlted for the spare sparts. According to those pictures, the fog lamp that you are looking for is still on that car. Try to contact that eBay seller for more info. Good luck!

The picture of the headlight stalk in that auction shows one that does not have the rear fog setting. Could be a picture of a stalk from a different car, but I would make sure that car has a rear fog...

I have been talking to seller on eBay and he already put the part on sale. The left side is the rear fog lamp and the right is just a reflector. The lamp is activated with the light switch handle. For cars with front fog lamps the ring only has one position to turn the front fog lamps, the cars equipped with both front and rear fog lamps the ring has a 2nd position that will activate it and then go back to the 1st position. I also confirmed this with my owners manual but I can't upload the picture here but if you want it just let me know

Here is the eBay link for the lamp

http://www.ebay.com/itm/230825062061...ht_1709wt_1187

Also requested the seller for the part number since it would be easier to find elsewhere

I just installed my Rear foglight today. am going to have a shop wire it into the taillights, So when the Fogs/Runners/headlights are on the light will be powered through that power source. Which harness through the taillights do you want to pick? I believe there was a plug in that had 6 different wire colors and another one had black/red/white/black? I know i will need a ground. And i believe the red is the runners lights and the white/black is the braking light? any input would be awesome!

Please do not use the fog-lamp as another brake-lamp. It is not designed as a brake-lamp and will blind the person behind you if used as such. Trust me, I know.

Explain. I see people using lower 4th brake light on trucks and SUV all the time without incident.

I don't think he is saying not to have a 4th brake lamp, but that a light unit specifically designed to be a fog lamp is not the proper light to use as a brake lamp. I agree somewhat becuase the fog lamp is a particularly birght lamp for low visibility conditions not to be used on a clear night.

In practice an OEM rear fog is usually not "blinding", and using it as a brake light is probably better than the tools in Audis and Volvos driving around with the rear fogs blazing 24/7/365. Americans can't be trusted with fog lights hahah

But really do you want a left side offset brake light? A rear foglight on the left indicates to pass left, a brake light only on the left indicates you have a bulb out ;-)

Also this has already been hashed out, you can't use the OEM rear fog switch on the stalk, it is a momentary switch that signals the BIU to turn on the rear fog. It was never determined if the US BIU would run this, and what pins the input/output is on. So if you do this just get a separate switch...

So it seems like no one's had success in finding someone to help with programming the BIU. If the VW/Audi guys can figure out how to activate "hidden" features so quickly, there has to be someone in the Subaru camp that can do the same!

Would anyone happen to know if just plugging in the Euro stalk will allow for the FRONT fogs to turn on with only the parking lamps? I'm pretty sure that the EDM cars work like that from the factory. Otherwise, would we also need a different relay (just like the USDM kit comes with a relay) and/or BIU programming for it to work? Since my OEM stalk is starting to fail on me, I'm trying to decide if it's worth trying to source an EDM stalk for the front fog feature alone instead of buying a USDM stalk.

Default Rear fog switch

Hi,

I think I mentioned it before but for Impreza's that come with that rear fog lamp, the switch is on the same "ring" that turns on the front fog lamps, the first click would turn on the front fog lamps and the 2nd click for the rear but when you turn on the rear the ring goes back to the first click since is spring loaded. I will try to get a picture of my manual for a better explanation.

I think that the rear fog lamps of the Legacy are exactly the same as the Impreza

If you go down and look at part number 5, there is an option for a black and ivory bezel switch...I ordered one today so we will see if it is the right part

Please keep us updated on this. I've had my rear fog installed for over a year without being wired. I have been casually on the lookout for a Subaru part for the switch ever since. I just can't bring myself to install a generic switch.

Yes. It's on the signal stalk. I have one but haven't wired it yet. They are relatively easy to find on eBay, but the wiring, relays, and cluster lamp are not in the USDM cars, so we need to DIY.
