Default use of oem sub amp to power aftermarket subs

i am interested in upgrading my wrex's bass output but i don't have the cash to spend on a seperate sub, amp, and install. i was wondering if it is possible to somehow disconnect the oem sub from the amp and then use the amp to power a trunk mounted sub. from what i have read the oem amp's output is 120 watts.just want to make sure of that also. thanks.

any info will be helpfull

No, 120 HUW maybe, that's Head Unit watts. They're a misterious number only achievable by head units. Amazingly, no quality amplifier manufacturere, even with all their R&D money can achieve this amazing level of efficiency and power out of such a small package.

Haven't looked but OEM sub is probably a chip-amp and from what I've heard here it can barely drive the OEM speeaker. Hookeing up a aftermaket sub wold make noise but play with any impact - I doubt it.

ps - you can get sub/box for $100 and an amp for $150 + $75 install for decent stuff at a good shop. Doesn't seem bad to me.
