Agreed. I was just interested in either one of you commenting. I have heard the 4094 argument regarding mismatch, before. I am guessing that you are referencing a 9180 or is it some non-efr?

4094 looks to be a little large unless drag racing?

What do you want us to say? I'm not surprised by the results at all. I'm very happy to see them here in the thread, but I'm not going to go snubbing people who were naysayers about it. 620whp on a Mustang dyno is no **** jack. I think it says everything we've been trying to say.
+2 to this.

My original customer has a near identical setup but with a 4" bore and 4-eat. Hand ported heads (ver 4 heads IIRC, had great numbers), same cams, and custom TS setup, as it was done back in 07. Before Full Race really came into the Subie game.
He reports graphs in kilowatts though and the graphs are always upside down

So this is nothing new but still nice to see it

I have a very basic question, I'm interested in this motor because I feel like my 5th gear ... Sucks. 1-4 happen so fast so the idea of stretching it out sounds great. However realistically I don't even know if the setup I'll have will benefit from going that high.
Goals for the car are simple, me and a buddy of mine might get the same turbo, pte 6262 maybe 5858. Assuming all supporting mods are the same (fuel and exhaust) which car would be faster at the strip and theoretical highway run.
His being the 2.5 with 07+ gearset
And mine being the powerfactor ss LR 2.34 with my short 05 gear set.
Both heads ports would remain stock for about a year, valves and retainers yes, but cams would still be up for debate depending on final turbo selection.

I know this is vague but

Bottom line mod for mod which set up would be quickest

If you both had the same gearing, I think the higher redline would give you an advantage for drag racing, as it lets you spend more of your time in the lower gears. For example when he shifts from 2nd to 3rd, you'll still be winding out 2nd gear for another 2k RPM or so. The lower gear ratio means you'll be accelerating faster. Until you shift, at which point you'd be accelerating at roughly the same rate again... until he shifts to 4th and you stay in 3rd for a while longer.

With the different gearing, I dunno... if you have to do one more shift than he does (e.g. if he can finish in 4th and you have to go to 5th), that would eat into your advantage.

But, starting from a random speed, ending at a random speed, I have no idea. I'll let someone else tackle that one.

Nice! I would love to see how yours comes out. I take it sleeved with 102.x pistons and maybe long rods?

As I tell all of customers, if you are going sleeved, you may as well pay a bit more and go big bore. I'm sure Dom will tell you the same.

I wasn't done tuning yet, but my big bore destroke did this on wastegate boost (heavily sprung as I plan on trying out 30 psi on this turbo if it will make decent flow) with very low timing. Log says 20 psi at 3400 rpm in 07 6 speed 4th gear and held very well all the way to 8500 rpm on my HTA Green 10.5cm. Road started getting crappy up around 8k (a bit over 8k, and a ways over 130) so I let off.

I am getting some things sorted on the car then either seeing what the HTA Green will do on some heavy fuel, or going straight to the S400SX I have waiting. Depends on when my air water intercooler gets finished.

4.5-5k rpm powerband is an interesting experience, I must tell you.

I do not know if I will have time to really turn up the green before the S400SX goes on. I have a half mile event scheduled for June 1st and still have a lot to get done with the big turbo. I will definitely post dynos as I turn it up on the big boy. It should still be a fairly wide powerband though as I plan on revving to 10. 6k-10k will do work. I will probably have to have Kelford make some custom cams to make good power that high though.

I think a higher power band turbo or much bigger hot side. Would help ya your 07 taller 2nd i think would compliment your high rev. Limit as mine does I run a GT40 on rally spec gears. Topendpull fwy monster

What would one with the 99.5 piston be like? The idea would be save the money on sleeving and putting it into the heads while retaining stock liners...
