You don't want "mad"smoke. A thin blue smoke is what you want from a home smoker. Weber kettle is good but their smoky mountain 22" dedicated smoker is awesome.

Love my smoky mountain. Used to use the el cheapo brinkman and it was such a pita. The WSM is fantastic. Can't wait for my first smoke of the year.

liek this, but you talkin about these thigns?:
That is a weber kettle. Best overall design though the chargriller drum style are just as good in my opinion. Especially after a few mods. They have higher capacity when used with the side box.

22" is big. I use an 18 for most things. Did six NY strips on it last night. About a dozen chops will fit on the 18 as well. Gas is good for steaks, chops, dogs, burgers or anything that you cook rapidly. Charcoal preferably lump is best for cooking things low temp over time. I rarely use gas though. For steaks I use cheap save a lot briquettes. Reason I go for cheap is that to do a steak right you need a ton of heat . That means a lot of charcoal. Seeing as to how the whole thing is over in about twelve minutes I use the cheap stuff. Kingsford blue bag is the most popular but it is not really that good.Burns fast with a lot of ash. Kingsford competition grade or lump is what you want for smoking. Both can be hard to find. I use all kinds of stuff I buy on the net . That's just to fire the wood which is a whole different subject. Hickory and mesquite are just the beginning.

Getting the 22 WSM as a "consolation" prize when I sell the bee Wednesday. Might do a smokenator for my 22 and get an electric but I am thinking WSM. I smoke year round. What do you have in mind for your first one this year ? Agreed on the Brinkman. It has a use though. There is a device called "the v burner" http://www.gassmoker.com/v-burner.htm that transforms the thing for about 60 bucks. I picked up a brinkman for 5 bucks at a yard sale. Put fire rope on the lid to seal it, replaced the thermometer and bent the door. Thing is killer with the V burner. I did four slabs on a rib rack up top and 8 cornish hens on the bottom in it. What you end up with is essentially a WSM 18 capacity that is gas fired for about 75 bucks done.

I want to do a brisket. But I always have trouble finding a nice cut of meat at the local stores. Maybe make a trip into the strip for it.

Sams club has flats but no point. Market District Giant Eagles have the whole packer now but they only put out like one a day. I got a nice one at the Fredericktown butcher shop. They need a day or so notice.

Your mom's meat cooker is better than the Weber Smoky Mountain.

It's called The Incubator.

Big truck was going opposite way on road. I guess a big rock came from it. Scared the crap out of me. It chipped the paint up from it as well. What angers me the most is my last wrx had a cracked windshield and i got it fixed the day before i traded it in. My deductible is $250 so I will have spent $500 in a month on broken windshields

Hello, Some lady pulled out in front of my legacy last week and totaled it so I purchased a Forester at an auction a couple days ago. The car is in imaculate condition and acording to carfax is a one onwner. I have some service records such as timing belt done rite at 100k and oil changes and stuff. The car was purchased, serviced and then traded back into Baierl Subaru. Do any of you guys work there or have you delt with them? Nice place, good work? I only ask because im considering calling them and asking for complete service records.
And I never posted my Legacy so here it is, RIP

-Thanks

Nice legacy though I am not a fan of the lift but to each his own. I am sure it is perfect for what you used the car for.

Sticker should say nasioc

Only three days of being a subie owner left.

I shall return.

I will continue to post here and will be at the meet next week to admire what I no longer have.
