so the cwII will only work with that scoop or can it work with the reverse unit as well? I like the grill spaces on the cwII more than the cw unit thats why I ask.
thanks -nick |

Scoop compatibility
AFS,
I think I speak for a good number of us bugeye folks: What exactly makes the VII hood incompatible with the stock scoop? Are there any closeup pics of the hood WITHOUT the supplied scoop attached? Also, will it work with the stock latch mechanism? If the hood would only take minor modification to work with a stock style scoop and splitter, I believe that the VII hood would be much more popular. The price is very attractive, and the vent design is much more subtle. That's a plus for folks who intend on getting the hood painted to match, as would with ability to utilize the stock scoop. It also has a higher resistance to engine tampering than did the first version because of the revised vent slat spacing. thank you |

The price of these hoods does include the hood scoop. The hood weights about the same as the stock aluminum hood.
As far as the fitment on the CWII hoods with other scoops, I will need to find out what would need to be done to be able to use other scoops on that hood. I know that the scoop on that hood is a different mold. |

I just got my CWII and it fits great (not to mention it arrived two days before I was quoted ) and looks great with the best fit and finish for one in this price range I've found. The only problems I came across are that you will have to source bolts to bolt the hood to the hood hinges and bolts to the hood latch, but not to fear they use the same bolts as what is used to attach the scoop to the hood so unscrew one and take it to your local hardware store and match it up. Also you may need to take a file to the holes for the hood prop and the windshield washer holes. As for those that want to use their stock or aftermarket hood scoop (STI) you will have to modify some holes where the scoop bolts to the hood. I haven't done it yet but I did test fit my STi scoop to the seibon hood and some holes would have to be enlarged with a file to get it to fit right. I hope this helps those who are interested in this hood and don't let what I have said scare you away as this is a great, high quality hood.
