Default Need Checklist Completed: 05 USDM STi 6MT into an 02 WRX

Hey guys, I stripped my 'glass' WRX tranny of it's 2nd gear the other day with absolutely no pre-warning signs of any sort after 140k (kilometers, ~90k miles) - so I decided to start if off properly and drop an 05 USDM Transmission that is soon on it's way!

I've read the FAQ's and understand what I need to get but sometimes I read that I need one more thing or something that I infact can re-used from my 5pd so I just want to clarify and maybe help someone else along the line who's in my exact position!

Ok so here it goes:

05 USDM STi 6MT into 02 WRX Transplant Master Swap-List:
- Transmission: Bare transmission with oil lines
- Driveshaft: Either one-piece STi driveshaft or an auto driveshaft off a WRX or legacy for example
- STi Transmission Mount
- 6-speed Clutch Fork
- R180 Rear Differential or Stock R160 with 3.90 R&P gear which replaces the 3.54 gear
(NOTE: IF YOU BUY THE R180 REAR DIFF YOU NEED THE REAR STI HUBS/AXLES/BRAKES)

- DCCD controller (optional but recommended!)
- 6MT Shifter Linkage

Now for the questions:
1. I want to use the stock R160 - So I need stubs, circlips, and seals to reuse my rear WRX axles. I can re-use my stubs, but what about circlips and seals: are these absolutely mandatory, and if so, where I can find them to buy??

2. What DCCD controller should I use? What are my options? (Neetronics, Spiider, what are the most popular/most recommended?)

3. With the use of the DCCD controller and the 3.9 R&P gear in my R160 - will the diff be ok for now? Anyone been running this for a while and can tell us how they're holding up??

4. What tranny mount? Are aftermarket mounts (ie. Cusco) really worth the extra $$??

Any other tips/hints/opions on this swap or anyone care to share their similar "budget" 6MT swap?? I really don't have the extra $$ to go R180 + STi axles/hubs/brakes . . . will I really be ok? I'm paranoid about grenading the R160 w/ 3.9, will DCCD controller come in big help?

Thanks guys - looking forward to keping you all updated on the progress!

DCDC options:

MoTeC
Spiider
OEM DCCD
Rocket Rally
GEMS
Neetronics

Cheapest/easiest would be Spiider (PM him) or OEM DCCD.

DCCD will have no effect on your R160 i terms of wear.

Tranny mounts are discussed in the Driveline FAQ, read it and decide for your self.

Suggestion: buy a 3.90 diff, They usually go for around $200 used on the forums. If you go the R&P route your looking at 300-400 for parts and a pain of an install (If your not an experienced mechanic w/ the right tools, dont even try)
