Default need a tuner in the seattle/portland area

Im looking at getting my stage 3 wrx tuned and need to find a fairly inexpensive tuner who people trust here in the northwest. I'm new to the area and was curious to where everyone else up here gets their tunes done thanks

mostly an EVO shop.. Lucas Engish is a cool guy. John Bradley is the tuner i believe. those are the good ones.. or you can get an E tune.. I do that and Phatbotti tuning does as well

Ah I do know who they are I saw their trailer out at the racetrack here. I don't have any way to flash an e tune otherwise I would be open to it I know a really good guy in Tacoma who has done like 50-60 tunes open sourced he charges 75 an hour but I heard alot of good things about him. I am looking to be in the 275-300 wheel range hopefully my vf39 can do that for me

Hey mate, not sure if he is in your area (as Im from Australia), But I just got an internet tune done by Matt Cater of 555motorsports and Im really happy with it. Really safe, solid tune with really smooth power all the way through. Would reccomend him to anyone. Really nice guy too!

Cheers Beau

Steves Pacific Import Auto are bigtime Subaru Specialists and have an AWD dyno. Not sure there prices though; google them. I am very impressed with what they do and the advice they have offered me.

They also get someone (Tim Baily pops in my head for some reason) from COBB Surgeline to come up from Oregon and tune too.

They aren't cheap but they're probably the best: COBB Tuning Surgeline in PDX.

as far as i know tim only does cobb tunes. so if you want open source i dont think its gonna happen.

maxwell does good work. and it wont be more than 500 I bet. the first time he tuned my car it lasted 3-4 or so hours becuase we had trouble and there was no extra charge.
the second time he spent a long time making the fuel and boost maps smoother and still onyl charged me for one hour when he spent about 2.

hes a good guy. tunes well.

but he is the only tuner i have had experience with

They (Pacific import auto, Surgeline) use cobb software, but since it is the protuning software and not accessport you are able to go home and modify your maps as if they tuned it using open source.

Default PDX tuners

I'd recommend Surgeline, also.

Has anybody here had experience with Superior Soobie and Import on SE McLoughlin Blvd?

I had them delete my air pump and associated valves and do a timing belt/water pump service, the were also able to delete the CEL for the air pump system with my accessport. I find them to be competitively priced for that type of work. Never had them tune me though, just adjust a few maps. Ask them for a quote.
