Or all phones with all the same hard/software. I'd be tempted on either the S20 or S20+, but the S20 Ultra is way too big for me and pricey. Oh boy, that price.

But, only the Ultra has the super fancy camera set up.

Damn, after looking into it, even the S20+ is slightly bigger than my S10+

To keep closer to my current size, it'd be a close toss up between the S20 and the S20+. One being slightly smaller than my S10+ and the other being slightly larger.

This is happening to my Pixel 3XL, as well. I've tried cleaning it out, but it now there's only one cable that works "reliably" (i.e. can be jostled the most), and it's a cheap Chineseum piece of swag from work.

Well you're obviously not cleaning your USB port enough. Havn't you read nutbucket's amazing advice?

You'll probably need to get the port replaced. After you do, just use these, they work great. https://smile.amazon.com/PortPlugs-S...613818&sr=8-10 You probably don't need 10 of them, but whatevs.

usb c ports getting filled with crap isn't a google problem, it's a usb c problem. never the less, google should have something that gives instructions on cleaning.

until they do that for you, just check out this

even if you've done cleaning by methods like this, the chances that there is still something in there is pretty good.

I cleaned mine, thought I got all the lint. there was still some crud in there.

treat it like your nose, you may go digging in there, and find a good one, but your brain tells you there's more in there, so you keep digging till you find every last piece.

Well it's just like cars or TVs or most anything. More bells and whistles for the higher end/price.

I used a lupe to inspect it after I realized how much **** was in there. I asked the guy at BB and the employee at the T-Mobile store if they had any tools to clean the port out with. BB guy tried to use a metal sim card eject tool to dig in but I stopped him, T-Mobile bro said a toothbrush. Both idiotic ideas. The tooth pick side of those single use flossers things works well, like I had mentioned. Had the port free of debris in no time.

Ugh so I had read that custom fonts were not possible on Android 10 but my settings still showed ProductSans and everything looked the same to me after the update (S9). I had a problem where my font size jumped up out of the blue last night so I went into settings to try and fix it and changed from ProductSans and now I can't get it back. Fuuuuuu it had carried through the update no problem but now I can't get it back through my own stupidity.

/rant

My wife: Listen to the extent of your problems.

About the charging port cleaning. Is this really an issue for that many people?

I don't believe I've ever an issue related to debris in either the old Micro-USB or the Type-C. *shrugs*

So really interested in the S20. Just learned about this since my contract is up next month. My wife and I are both rocking S9s, so the trade in allowance is $300. Certainly do not mind paying under a $1000 for this much of an upgrade.

It's a pretty dope upgrade. I'm holding out for the most ideal Galaxy Fold incarnation. They're getting closer after seeing the Z Flip. If they can expand upon that to include S20 specs, a stylus, and unfold into a tablet with no weird chunk of front facing camera taking up precious realty, that would pretty much be my perfect smartphone.

The Z flip is along the lines of any flip phone I'd even consider owning. That being said, unless the prices come down to match the "low end" flagships I don't see myself pulling the trigger on one.

Yeah, I think I'll be hanging onto my Note 10+ for a while. I don't need that much camera in a phone, TBH. The one on mine now is good enough.

Having a real zoom is nice. I used the wide-angle some when I was in Alaska. Again, nice to have but having a single really good camera works too. The one thing is I wish the zoom was more than a 2x (I have an S10).

pretty sure my pixel 2 just died. Normally this would be a no question next Google phone "upgrade" but I keep getting tempted by Samsung. I love the Samsung pay working everywhere. I also hate that Samsung has the buttons backwards from the pixel. Is that something that can be changed in Nova? S9 or s10, do the letters or symbols matter?

What buttons? You mean back, home, recents? Yes, like most things, this can be changed with Samsung.
