Default Boost Gauge Install Walkthrough?

I just purchased a boost gauge that's going to go in a pod replacing where the OEM clock is. My friend and I are going to attempt to wire up the gauge, but have never done anything like this before... can anyone offer any tips i.e. where to route the hose through the firewall, wiring up the lighting, etc.? I did a search and didn't find anything too comprehensive.

TIA

If you want the illumination to work for the gauges, make sure you connect to both the power AND the ground of the illumination circuit... the ground is the important one as it actually changes it's potential... this had me stumped for a couple weeks as I thought a ground was a ground...
