Default Bsd/rcta won't enable 2016 sti

I have a 2016 sti 17000km. While driving today the dash displayed the bsd/rcta disable. Now it won't turn on. Any similar issues or known fixes ? Dealership was useless on the phone and I live 2 hours away. Help please!

Wasn't raining. But ground had been a little wet. No puddles. Just glossy. The car was glove washed the day before.

Has it been hit? Any impact at all around the tail lights, or stickers or anything put on it over the sensors?

Problem went away later that week back when I first posted. It's back again. Was driving up the highway. Beautiful day sunny. Car is very clean. What is going on!

Did you hit the switch to disable by accident?

No. Switch did nothing except have the indicators on mirror (both sides) stay in for about 1 second then turn off. Display in dash kept saying disabled

I just recently took my 16 sti in for this very issue. I have to take it back because they said they had to order new sensors. Service advisor told me this is the first time he's seen this issue. Mine disabled itself just under the 1,000 mile mark.

Any update on the BSD Disabled issue? The same thing happened to my 2016 STi today while driving by no reason. Dont think its the temperature since I have this car from last fall. Any suggestion or commendation would be greatly appreciated.

Aye, it's in the other thread but they just recalibrated the sensors and it's fine so far. Took the dealership 5 hours to do because they had never done it before. They said mine was the first car they'd seen with this particular issue.

First dealer said they had to replace sensors, second dealer said SOA told them to recalibrate. If it happens again they'll replace them.

Also, dealer told me they won't warranty it if you've done suspension work or changed the wheel size.

Default My 2017 also disabled the BSD/RCTA

Yesterday my 2017 WRX disabled the BSD/RCTA about an hour into a drive home on the highway. It showed as an alert on the main dash screen between tach/speedo.

It didn't respond to the dash button to enable/disable. It stayed that way despite several stops and turning off the engine over the next hour. I thought maybe a few high speed passes vs other cars on the highway had confused it.

I checked after the car sat for 6 hours still there, as well as this AM when I left to pick up my wife from the airport. But 15 minutes into the drive today the sensors re-activated and started working again.

On another forum this seems to be a common issue for Outbacks about a year ago. Is there any current info about how to keep this from coming back, short of it acting up for the dealer and having sensors replaced and recalibrated?

Thanks!

Default BSD/RCTA disabled 2017 OB

Got this car less than a week ago in New York where I live. Temperatures have been slowly going down but not this low till today. I'm driving along and abou 15 mins after startup this appears disabled. I'm thinking its temperature related as that's all that makes sense (no impacts, etc). That being said if it is temp related I'm pissed. It's been in the 30s and today is the first sub-30 day. How can it be that sensitive. Just my two cents. I'll keep you posted.

It definitely not temperature related. My 2016 wrx had no issues for the past year. Temps went from 20 all the way to 90.

I would tend to agree with you however many people are being told that is the culprit by dealers. Furthermore I'm not sure what else has changed. Obviously there is something going on behind the scenes but what could it be?

Mine started working again the next day for no reason, after I called the dealer to ask them about a solution and they never called back. It's hasn't acted up since.
