Default My Car!

2012 Impreza 2.0i Base with Red/Black Wheel Caps, red decal around the sides & back, with a smoked license plate cover.

I put on a Sport Model OEM roof rack (way too much work and worry involved).
Also installed HIDs, and LEDs throughout.

[EDIT]
Changed my car! not ricer-esque anymore.

If you can, get some alloys and tint and you should be set!

I did this about a month ago..Super easy!!! (I'm a first timer as well with modding cars)

You can remove the grill without having to remove your bumper or battery.

First thing you need to do is remove these 2. The air vent and also this J-shape thing that is one long piece that runs along side of the grille.

Engine by jmaiden91184, on Flickr

They are held on by plastic clips so it should be fairly easy to pop them out with a flat head.

Next step. make sure your hands are not chuncky or fat because its going to be hard to reach. Behind the grille are nubs that go into slots that hold the grille in place. You have to jimmy it some how and put some muscle into it. I think someone said lift up and push forward... but when you see the nubs you will know what im talking about. Don't be afraid to put some elbow grease into it because the clips are hard to pop out but also fragile enough to break.

Let me know the progress

Good luck!

One last thing to add your going to need one of these

261260 by jmaiden91184, on Flickr

There are 2 screws on each side of the grill. you can locate the holes where the screws go if you look at the back of the mesh grill.

A good hint to where those "nubs" go is to look along the bottom of the mesh grill. there should be rectangular holes like 6 of them across. thats where you need to pull up and push forward to pop it out. Some one else said to pinch the nubs and push forward. You have to play with it a bit and figure it out on your own. I'm sure your a big boy with big boy pants and you can handle it.

Good look.

Yep, watch out when popping the grill out, I broke maybe half of the plastic clips. I was a little worried at first, but later realized that even without them, the grill is pretty sturdy with just the screws holding it in place.

Well, since this IS a PICS thread, here are some pics!

Car arrived 11/20. - Yes, it's real!

Took delivery on 12/5. Had sport mesh grill and front license plate bracket installed same day. Center console tray placed in center console.
Dealer ordered blue splash guards (silver ones were ordered by mistake) which were installed on Friday 12/7.

Got a zero deductible, 7 year 70k gold plus warranty for $770. Paid $24,765 OTD (tax, title, registration and warranty included in that price). $500 credit from SoA on $510 worth of accessories and installation fees for said accessories. I think I did well.

Finally, on to the pics!

The first three pictures were at the dealer on 12/5 before I started the paperwork and before I got the sport mesh grill, splash guards and front license plate bracket installed.

The rest of the pics were taken after said parts were installed.

The shift knob is from Chris @ LatheWerks. It's a knurled black hybrid, with a gunmetal finished base and silver painted shift pattern.

That's all the pics I have for now. I have about 300 miles on the car already. I've really been enjoying it more than I thought I would have, coming from a turbo car.

Can anyone tell me what the mounting hardware on the top of the mesh grill is? Push tabs or plastic screws? Curious to see if I was given proper hardware. Thanks!

Such a beautiful ride! I would love to test trive the manual, but unfortunately when I bought my 2012 they only had two CVTs in stock and I needed a new car right then/there...

Kazera KZ-S iirc, 17x7 with some Toyo Observe Garit-HTs.

They were my dad's winter wheels on his stage 2 LGT, but I bought him some General Altimax all seasons, he was tired of swapping in the winter and rarely drives

Thanks! I'm not done yet though. Tints are in my future, and maybe, maybe summer rims & tires. I'll eventually end up putting snow tires on the stock rims like I did with my Saab.

The wait nearly killed me, but I'd do it all over again, it was SOOO worth it. Love my manual transmission! CVT does get better mpg though.

Rims look pretty nice! I think I saw them on tirerack and decided against them due to all the little holes, but they don't look that bad! They look much better ON the car then on the internet!

Congrats, man! Can't wait to see what you've done with it!
From that pic you posted, it looks like you got the navigation too. Was that included in the purchase price as well?
