Cool

Paul didn't spell this out for everyone - cause I almost missed it. Just to make sure - we all got it...

Since this will be the only turbo Impreza anyone has actually seen in New England - I suggest you be there!

Paul, I'll show up a bit later on Saturday.

What do you know about camping on site? Camping fee? I presume they will allow 24h in/out access through the gate?

Thanks,

I have a bit of bad news to share with any of you who were excited about seeing Matt C's turbo car.....the car has apparantly spit out another transmission. Matt is devastated, after only having the car back for a whopping 7 days since the last tranny rebuild was completed. It is unlikely that he will be attending the NHIS SCCA event later this month.

Yeah, I saw the car in person today at my visit to Rallispec - came in on a flatbed the night before. That guy really is having too much fun with his car -- it was at Atco raceway when it blew.

Andy @ Rallispec said he thinks it's the shift fork, but they won't know until they take it apart.

No way I'm drag/street racing my car when I turbocharge it... I hope that keeps my tranny healthy at least until I can save enough $$ for a strengthened gearset. :|

EFOO: MattC's transmission was dying long before he installed the turbocharger. The clutch fork is still intact, as they had to depress the clutch in order to get the car to simply roll. Even then, with the car being pushed by hand, the tranny was making nasty noises. The transmission died this second time from a faulty rebuild, as it only lasted a few days! There are plenty of turbo RS's (w/o puck clutches) that don't have manual transmission problems, so if I were you, I wouldn't lose sleep over tranny problems.

Rubasu: You don't need any special license to autoX, the school is voluntary, and fun is all that is required, but we'll supply the fun!

The school in in NH and two requirements: SCCA Membership and Pre-Registration.

SCCA Auto-xes you don't need to be a member for tho.

I won't be there on Sunday, but the last 2 New England Region Auto-Xes at Devens I'll be at.

Guys, I will try and get some more info on the camping thing. I am pretty sure everything will be low key, and no big deal. I also want to make sure you guys can hang out there and watch the school.
I post a new topic this week with more details.

Thanks again...

Paul G.

KC-come on.. I can't believe you are going to pass up an event, especially when there is not another one around. I thought you were a die hard I guess my schooling is intimidating you, and your afraid I'll so you a thing or two on Sunday.. Hee hee..

(I am just kidding by the way...)

I had my weekends screwed up.

I just may be there for the Auto-X on the 23rd. Gotta get my Jacket this year for ST-R.

I was thinking it was going to be this weekend. But this weekend is the BMW Auto-X at Devens. This is the last time for the current course, then they change it for the last 4.

I actually may go to NHIS. Howabouthat?

KC-Very cool. Hope you can make it.
Edwin- Sunday the 23rd autocross is just like last time. I do not think it is too late to sign up for the school. Just print out the form, and send in your $50. Here is the link: http://www.ner.org/soloII/solowhere/SoloSchoolReg.html

You'll get a confirmation via e-mail.

Paulie, Paulie, Paulie....

The only reason that I was going to pass up this event is because of the 3.5 hour drive.

I'll just have to get up early is all. Like 4AM to be there for 7 or 7:30.

Seeing the NER Web Site, we will work first and run 3rd, I may be able to get home at a resonable time. Just someone needs to take my trophy for me becuase this blue one next to my desk is lonely and needs a twin.

KC,
You are welcome to come up on saturday and camp out with the rest of us. I will be getting more info on this, but for now, the site is at NHIS infield. Not a camp site, just a place to pitch a tent. There are a few of us going this route. Should be fun.

Alright, I have aquired a small charcol grill suitable for our one night stay. Anyone who wishes to eat at the campsite is more than welcome to use it. BYOF, bring your own food (or marshmallows!)

Off topic but... Rallispec will be going to Maine for that rally the weekend following this SCCA event. Ya'll should, if you haven't already planned to, go see them!
