Haha she must likely does, doesn't bother me though, I can appreciate what she did.

Edit: More importantly, in the fitness and crossfit threads I think those comments are unneeded.

I like you but don't get holier than thou. It's not a good look on anyone.
I have to agree with you. I like a woman to look in shape but attractiveness goes out the window to a point.

Oh, and this crap is why I don't post in this thread much anymore or converse with other CFers outside of my own gym...too many elitist douchebags.

Agreed. The nuances of humor rarely come through das Internet. I blame Al Gore. He did a very poor job designing the humor module of das Internet.

Whatever, I'm just sick of the constant comments by insecure douches (you may or may not be included in that group, I don't know any of you that well) that feel the need to somehow undermine a woman's clearly hard fought accomplishments by stating her appearance doesn't make you get wood. I just don't get why you can't appreciate someone's amazing performances, be positive and move on.

Maybe I'm sensitive to this because I'm married 15 years and deeply in love with a woman nearing 40 that carries a lot more muscle than the average woman, and kicks some serious ass in the gym. She knows I'm her biggest fan, and I love the way she looks. Our love life couldn't be better. But I also have to deal with her fragile emotional state when her mom thinks it might be "too much", or the skinnyfat spin class, pilates cardio whore next door comments all the time how she doesn't lift heavy weights because she doesn't want to look like Ms. Olympia. Like she ever could have the chemistry or mental toughness to do it.

It bothers me when Laura Phelps-Sweatt breaks a freaking world record and the first thing idiots comment on is her "manliness". Or when the U.S. finally has a decent weightlifting Olympian who works her ass off, qualifies, then then lifts in London with a wrist that needs surgery, puts up really solid numbers, also happens to be charming and pretty hysterical and the only thing people can think of about her is that she's really big.

Free country and all that, you have the right to say anything you want. But then I also have the right to call you out for being an ass. I'm not saying you shouldn't be allowed to say anything you want, I'm saying why do you want to?

I'll say this, getting on a soap box to preach about a situation, however heartfelt it may be, sometimes brings unneeded or unwanted attention to the situation. The best policy is to let things roll (and in your case be supportive of your wife).

Truth is, I love the typical crossfit girl. Muscle is sexy. There gets a point, that regardless of the athletic accomplishments and dedication required, that it becomes a turn off.

Take for instance some of the bone heads that are in the fitness thread that only care about being huge. If I was a woman, I wouldn't be attracted to a west side barbell guy or a Ronnie Coleman type. It becomes so overwhelming, so overdone, that its just not as attractive physically or mentally. People that reach those levels are so goal oriented that they become one dimensional. other aspects of their life are neglected to satisfy their goal.

I live by fitness as a lifestyle, but I never thought I could be so repulsed by the amount that people talk about working out until I've talked to my fellow crossfitters too much. They've actually caused me to reevaluate, take a look and think wow, I get it when people say you should be able to eat a piece of cake every one in awhile. It's okay to do something for enjoyment outside of just health and fitness.

I see that girl. I see she's dedicated. I realize how long it took her to accomplish that and it's just not high up on my attractive things list.

I understand that I took it upon myself to turn the conversation to sex and attractiveness but it was just a quip.

But hey, I also get I'm not attractive to some girls because I'm 5'8 165lbs and they like 6'+ 200lb+. That's okay. They're entitled to what they like. Plus they were probably a buncha skanks anyway.

Not getting involved in this but I just wanted to say a few things:

1) tell your wife to tell your stupid neighbor to f off. I have seen your wife on FB and she is stunning and i am sure that most women would kill to look like her.

2) I LOVE Holly Mangold!!!

I think everyone has their own opinions on what they find attractive and now we should all get back to being positive and remembering why we are here.

Can't we all just get along?

We all know the only reason you ever started CrossFit was to keep your exceptionally Hot Wife. Now that she has her own Hot Husband, there is harmony in Paradise. You two are a matched pair now. That wasn't always the case.

You've done a phenomenal job Neekster. Kudos!

...and that used up my quota for positivity for the next year or so. Time to go pick on Fetus.

Totalburnout, the so called "butchy women" couldn't care less if you found them attractive or not. And I don't know anyone in the OT Fitness thread that wants to be "huge" like Ronnie Coleman. And hell, Ronnie Coleman and the Westside guys are far superior athletes than you would ever be. What you would be attracted to doesn't matter.

That's why you came in for captain save a ho?

Listen, I like neek but have no idea why he would highlight a personal situation in the thread. Since he's well respected, everyone else followed as a lemming.

I explained it was said jokingly and didn't take away from her accomplishment.

Then you come in as some all knowing deity and try to attack my athleticism. Good job chief. I'm quite confident I hold my own.
