Isn't it something like rapidly plugging and unplugging the seat belt for 15 secs or so? I did this a long time ago, no more annoying seat belt chime for me

I found a couple videos. Apparently you turn the key to the run position, fasten and unfasten your seatbelt 20 times within 30 seconds, and then start the car. I'm going to try this tomorrow.

I think I read on here somewhere that you can disable the chime by keeping the seat belt buckled while you're driving

I don't need an annoying chime to remind me to fasten my seatbelt while out on the road. And I certainly don't need it constantly going off when I'm slowly moving the car around in driveways or open spaces, particularly if I'm in a situation where I find myself in and out of the car repeatedly. It's a dummy reminder. Do you need it?

I disabled it yesterday. Turn the key to the run position, fasten and unfasten the belt 20 times within 30 seconds, then start the car. It will beep at you a few times when you first start the car, but no more after that. I was kind of surprised though, it even turned off the seatbelt indicator light on the dash.

Does that also disable the passenger seat belt alert?

key to ON (dont start the car)
buckle/unbuckle like 20-30 times in 30 seconds
repeat for passenger seat
profit

did mine like 2 weeks ago, normally I buckle, but for things like driving from the alley to the front of my house it is super annoying.

I just did this procedure to my Impreza and I can verify that it does work to disable the chime and the light. Both the driver and passenger seat belt alerts are completely disabled.

They let you disable the chirping for locking and the seat belt alarm... but wont let you turn off the bright yellow light stating I turned off the hill assist. That is the one I wish we could change.

I also wish we had a switch or something for disabling the HSA, instead of putting in a code. Seems like that should be a simple push button option, rather than something you have to check the manual to do.

Sorry to revive an old thread.

Is there a way to have the key fob unlock all the doors on the first click?

I rarely have passengers but when I do they constantly pull the handle with the door locked because I forget it needs to be pushed twice.

If there is the dealer has to program it, that wouldn't be something you could do. Not without their $3000 scan tool deal

Thank you for this OP! It gets annoying when I unlock it for passengers to get in and you have to hear the beep sequence twice.

Thanks for this thread! Just picked up a 2013 WRX a couple of days ago and I can’t wait to do this!
