Updates:
It's been months since I've talked about the spare engine. My buddy and I had agreed that he'd handle the port work as he had more free time, but things have changed on both ends and they're now back in my hands. I'm trying to get the spare motor together and rip out the current one for maintenance, It's at 160K and is leaking at the passenger side VC. Here's how I spent my thurs & fri night.

*Open to any pointers, if you see it, call it out; please and thanks!!

I've setup the intake side, still needs some finish work before I move onto the exh. sides.

IG _bm27

Definitely will. Going to hit the dude up and see if he has it still, and if he’ll take my offer.

Doing my best to learn, hands on. I like to know cars intimately lol. You're already a step ahead of the game with a built block. Years from now when the current motor comes out I'd like to build that one. What heads do you plan to go with?

Thanks Master.C. It's been a blast to create. Definitely a car to enjoy despite all my headaches. I wouldn't change it for the world... well except for an S209. Which is nothing special but I'm obsessed with the design.

Updates:

Exhaust side ported. After reading some literature on thermal coating, I'll be doing a smoother pass on the exhaust side and playing guinea pig with some thermal stuff both intake and exhaust side.

* Right or wrong, I've also been thinking that I'm going to treat this head to a set of +1mm valves, future prep in-lieu of the "spoolinator" w/ a G series turbo, which will one day replace the vf48.

Revisited the intake ports just a skosh

Man do it! That's how these platforms progress! Someone steps up and starts the new standard. I was researching tbc coating as well. I was looking at swaintech.com.

I can't really say this is proof, but if their findings are true, it's good enough to try. As I do with anything implemented, kind of just have to take it all in with a grain of salt. Gain one, loose one. Meaning, you always gain something at the expense of something else.

here's the info. that has me heavily considering this
