Acura adds standard luxuries to 2014 ILX

Quote:
For 2014, Acura's entry-level ILX sedan will gain a number of previously optional luxury features in a bid to boost the car's profile among shoppers.
Starting at $26,900 - $1,000 more than last year - the 2014 ILX trades its cloth seats for standard heated (up front) leather surfaces (including leatherette on the door panels). In addition, the driver's seat is now of the eight-way power variety and a rearview camera is also included. Finally, Acura has also added a subwoofer and active noise cancelling technology to the standard audio system and all models get upgraded 17-inch alloy wheels.
The automaker hasn't changed the ILX's powertrain choices, which remain either a 150-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder mated to a five-speed automatic or a 201-horse 2.4-liter unit offered exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Despite sales that are lagging compared to the automaker's projections, ILX has become the second best-selling Acura sedan in the U.S. So far this year, Acura has found 7,508 buyers for its Indiana-built four-door, eclipsing the similarly sized Acura TSX. The Honda Civic-based ILX is considerably less expensive for Acura to produce, and it's expected to eventually replace the TSX from the automaker's lineup entirely.
