Question How many miles should I wait to install exaust?

I just got my new ride on Friday, and I received my exaust on Monday. How many miles if any should I wait to install my new exaust system.

Also who makes a good intake system for the WRX?

Well that sort of depends...alot of guys just went out and started doing all kinds of mods even before the factory break in was done. Generally I would say wait at least the 1,000 mi, just so you get a feel for the car and all. It seems like alot but it took me about 2 days to put that on the car. Oh and having talked to alot of the tuners in my area they suggest at least 5k or more before doing any serious engine mods.

sorry dont know about the intake.

I'd say atleast the 1,000 mile break-in period. After that you should be fine for mods. Although, I would wait atleast until 3,000 miles before doing any serious engine mods (or 5,000 like stated above, better safe than sorry).

As for the intake, the Injen cold air looks to be the nicest that I've seen so far. Don't know about pricing, but you can see it here: http://www.vividracing.com/

i had 3,935 miles before installing a catback exhaust. since the catback is downstream of pretty much anything sensitive, it should be safe to do early. i waited as long as i did b/c that was the earliest Cobb could ship back when they had a waiting period!

I know some people that got the Dealer Installed STI exhaust system right from the get go (O miles on the car - well close enough). Isn't this the same as other aftermarket exhaust systems? I think so. But it all depends on you. If you feel comfortable enough to do whatever you're going to do to your car, more power to you baby... I could be wrong or I could be right but what do I know

Well I have 10k miles on mine and still no mods, yet the car seems faster than new. If you look at all the magazines that tested out the WRX it progressivly got faster times as it was handed down from mag to mag. I say give it some time, but hell its your car!
