Question Any good martial arts establishments in central nj?

I have been considering either getting into an organized sport or do something other than just going to the gym. Lately I've been considering some sort of martial arts. I've done a little research and wanted to get into xtreme martial arts because it sparked my interest, but I've only found places in CA and Canada. So does anyone know of any good martial arts establishments in central jersey?

Thanks

Joe

Where are you in NJ? There is Hwang' Karate (I believe it's Tang Soo Do) in Springfield New Jersey. There is also "Jeet Kun Do" in Princeton Area. And there are quite a few Taekwondo place in Central Jersey in New Brunswick, Edison, Somerset and Princeton Area.

Isn't Jeet Kun Do based off of a "bruce lee" style of fighting? Springfield is a bit of a hike. I live in Monroe so it is probably about 20 - 30 minutes away from princeton or new brunswick.

The Jeet kun do place is the Princeton academy of martial arts...they have a bunch of different classes. I would love to go there but it would take me and hour and a half each way..

Check out my brothers=) They were in the '05 April issue of Kung Fu Magazine. If they don't respond right away it might be because they're filming a new movie. My brothers teach and do choreography.

Princeston Academy is an amazing place to train. Being in the martial arts since the age of 4 or so and have taken a few classes there (2 hr. drive each way) I can say it's absolutely your best bet. I haven't looked at their schedule in a while but if it's similar still you have JKD, Kali, Muay Thai, JJ (can't remember if it's brazilian or not though).

Otherwise if you can stand the train into NYC I'd go to Fight House...good stuff being taught out of there.

I beleive I remember seeing on the site it said there were classes held in woodbridge, which isn't too far from me. If this whole Capoeira thing doesn't pan out I might be interested in that.

I don't know if I'm dedicated enough to head into the city for it, but I have called the princeton academy and they said the put the Capoeira program on Hiatus. I'll have to look through the princeton academy's website and see some of the other styles there.

Check out Ricardo's school. He is a Renzo Gracie black belt and an awsome instructor. I went to one of his seminars and it was intense.

Renzo is damn good...so any of his black belts are worthwhile. If you want to do ground fighting that's a great choice.
