Default Need help with Autometer EGT gauge

I lost my instructions and my gauge isn't working. I think it may be connected incorrectly. I have the lights working, the red and yellow wires that go to the probe are connected, but the 2 wires that come out of the bottom of the gauge (red and black), I'm not sure where they go. Currently they are connected in the same spot the wires for the lighting is connected (behind the stereo). Could someone please tell me how theirs is hooked up?

heres how it goes. i am assuming you have a full sweep 0-1600 f gauge. the white wire goes to your lights (12v). the black one next to it is ground. the wires on the bottom of the gauge are as follows. red ( keyed power or accessory) and black is ground. the two bolds sticking our are yellow on the left and red on the right. hope this helps.

(lights) white----- > * * <--------black( ground )

in the middle of the gauge are the mounting bolts and the pryometer bolts. yellow left, red right.

(ground) black-> * * <-red (accessory or keyed power)

oh yeah, the reason why your gauge does not work is because it requires power, most of the other gauges are mechanical so it requires just a power source for light. in some electrical gauges they require power and a light power source. hope this helps.

i found all of this information on the autometer web site.

scroll down the page and you will find out the same info.

Ok, I have the 2 wires coming out of the bottom connected to the same place I have the power for the gauge lights. In the instructions on the Autometer site, it shows a "temperature module", I didn't get one of these. Am I missing something??

the probe is a 3-4 inch metal rod with threading on it. it has 2 wires coming out of it of it. red and yellow. those goto the two bolts that say red and yellow.

actually, I was looking at the wrong gauge instructions on the Autometer site. I don't think you can run the red and black wires (for gauge power) from the back of the stereo cause there isn't enough power.
