Was going 3k, then I had my oil analyzed. The lab said I'd even be safe at 6.5K, but I now do 5K, anyway.

I change every 3K and by that time the oil is always very black and gross.

For the info:

I use Castrol Syntec 5w30. I drive like a maniac, and I have all the regular bolt ons.

DUDE! If your oil is that bad after 3K. you might want to have your engine looked at.

I run Mobile1 20w50 during the summer and 10w30 in the cold months. I do a track event every other month and have put 36K on the car in little over 14 months. My oil never looked that bad.

BTW, running TXS Stage 4+

Really? I don't lose a noticable amount of oil between changes. I do get a puff of smoke when I shift though, I've seen it on my drag racing videos.

I don't think that's neccesary. What I meant is that the oil is no longer brown at all after 3K, it's completely black.

Losing a quart of oil every change? That's what happened to me on my RS-T with a blown turbo.

I lose about 1/2 to 1 quart every oil change. I try to do it "at" 3k, most of the time it is more like ~3k.

I saw the underpants gnomes stealing your oil the other night.

I think I've gone something like 4k miles this time around. I usually change it around 3k but I'm pretty lax with it.

[Silence]
Gnome 1: Hey, what's phase two?!
Gnome 2: Phase one: we collect oil.
Gnome 1: Ya, ya, ya. But what about phase two?
[Silence]
Gnome 2: Well, phase three is profit. Get it?
Stan: I don't get it.
Gnome 2: (Goes over to a chart on the wall) You see, Phase one: collect oil, phase two-

Cartman: Oh I get it.
Stan: No you don't.
Kyle: Do you guys know anything about corporations?
Gnome 2: You bet we do.
Gnome 1: Us gnomes are geniuses at corporations.

That episode is great....

So yeah, the fact that you lose a full quart of oil still baffles me. You sure Mike hasn't been siphoning it out at night and knockin back a few oily cocktails?

I change with Mobil1 every 3K because I live in the desert where it's hot and dusty and I drive the crap out of my baby. Going to get a sample on the next change, though, to see where everything's at.

I would recommend this instead of buying crush washers and such.

So much easier and cleaner.

The Engine Oil Drain Valve has been tested and granted "Genuine Parts" status by 6 major motor vehicle manufacturers in Japan, including Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Isuzu. These approvals were not granted easily and gaining them was a testimony to the quality and durability of Engine Oil Drain Valve.
In the United States, the Engine Oil Drain Valve is being installed at the factory level on some of the vehicles made by Ford and Freightliner.
