Default NFS Underground -- Show off your virtual ride!

Ok, so i know several of you out there have been playing NFSU. Let's see your rides. Also, list the progression of cars you've owned in the game. Post pictures of all of them too if you want.

1. Peugot 206
2. Tiburon GT (Current)

Next is probably the 2.5RS

Earned Level 2 paint = update:

Yeah, well you kinda gotta to do well in the game. Plus i'm goin all-out rice, all the stuff i wouldn't do in Real Life (TM).

I don't think it's too bad though, I could've done a lot worse with the options that are available.

Yep, I was on that game since day 1, was a beta tester. I knew the end was near when they put a Supra and Eclipse in the game.

It's ok on a suby but not on the Tiburon?

Very nice Subiekid, doesn't it hurt your reputation not having a bunch of vinyl/sponsor stickers plastered all over everything though?

I just unlocked Level 2 paint, allows for much nicer color combos. Here's my repainted Tiburon. The wheels have to be seen in motion to see the color right. They are lighter than they look, and kind of glossy.

I don't understand how you can compare the stats of the car you have to a car you're considering trading for. Can anyone explain that to me?

Yay! A tibby! I feel like buying this game now...

How does the Tiburon compare with the other cars?

Yeah there's a lot of weird stuff in the game like that. When you go to trade in the car you can't see the stats of the next car. Your mods go with you and I think the car is supposed to perform exactly the same. But I know when I went from GTI to RS the launch was like an AWD launch and it handled differently. I guess you're just supposed to know that the Skyline is faster than the S2000 is faster than the Impreza is faster than the Tiburon, etc. Haven't tried the Skyline yet though, I like the Impreza too much.

How did you guys take screenshots? Print screen doesn't work for me. Had to use Snag It.

i used print screen (radeon 9700). BTW, i get a lot of little "flecks" appearing sometimes all over, kinda like a bit of static or something. Anyone else experiencing that? Seems to happen when there are certain light sources in the render. I'm running 3.8 catalyst drivers right now, but it happened with 3.7 and 3.9 too. Oh well, don't really wanna wander off topic too far.

Keep the pics comin.

Doesn't seem to handle quite as well as the Peugot, close though... those are the only 2 i've driven so far.

Here's my 3 favorites:

Forgot the progression part hehe.

Miata > Skyline > finished game w/ Skyline

Drifting Favs:

Subaru
Skyline

Drag favs:

Skyline (damn sweetspot is small on this car)

Sprint/circuit fav:

Mazda Miata: The car accelerates like a madman, lift throttle response is nice and it corners like crazy

note: I had stabilize controls turned off the whole time so I was constantly powersliding through turns.

Car that is out of control under throttle lift:

Nissan 240SX

Car NOT to drift with:

Mazda Miata: this car is insanely hard to control while drifting. It spins tires like crazy in 1st and 2nd. You end up drifting in 3rd gear just to be able to keep the lines.

I figured out how to compare stats between cars. When you go to the trade car screen, choose a car, hit enter: It shows you the stats for your car, then hit enter again and it shows you the stats for the car you're trading to. (It says at the top of the screen).

I swapped to the miata. I can definitely tell it's RWD. Also handles quite nice. (I have stability off as well)

I got by far my best drift score yet with the miata, i didn't think it was bad. Then again, it was the first non front drive car that i've drifted so...

Might as well throw in a pic of the miata too.

Ya, at that point you could see the writing on the wall. I just remember the devs telling the board how they were losing people to this new game called underground. everyone was in debial, till the end was apparent. i played till they shut the servers down for good. I even downloaded a program called garage saver. so i could look at some of my cars after the game went offline. I still miss that game. the setup customization is by far and away unmatched by any game on the market today. its a shame it didnt catch on more.

wow. So, is carbon fiber a requirement to do well on this game? I will not be buying this game because it is just so damn ugly. They'll have to release a good sim on PC eventually.
