Just buy a set of Dunlop SP Sport FM901 C$ 137.72 each from www.tiretrends.com in Port Moody.

Alternatively I'd sell my nearly new Kumhos 712s for $550 and buy the Dunlops myself.

Yeah, you'll have a hard time beating the prices at www.tiretrends.com. The 712s list for C$ 165.62 each there. I've only run mine for 2-3k km and never autocrossed.

Mirage: actually, if Dunlop has stock size, just get them at stock size. No need to get new rims if you don't want to...

I believe it doesn't have as stiff a sidewall as the Azenis (both the Sports and the ST115), and the tread pattern is what causes the noise. Nothing too big really, and from the review I read, FM901 is more predictable (and will squeal) at the limit then the ST115, or should I say it has more room for error?

i am only looking for a street tire... azenis is barely hospitable despite how great they are... spooky in the rain though. deep puddles=very bad day

has ne1 ordered from this place? i can see how they can be cheaper being only on internet storefront, but there is no mention of shipping and they are not open weekends so i can't ask anything at the moment... can they get other stuff that isn't listed?

kgb: I want new wheels.. that's why the 17s. But if I could find a set of MY98s (anyone?? ) that's when I'd get the stock size and save the REpoopoos for winter.

Road noise isn't that bad.. is it? If u were to have a louder than stock exhaust I don't think that would matter..

I think the FM901 will be my next tire. I read lots of reviews from austrailian boards and they speak quite highly of them. Noise isnt really a big issue for me. I dont drive my car too often. I dont think you can get a better tire for the $$$.

I've never actually bought anything from tiretrends, but I got some quotes, and like kgb says, you can pick them up to avoid shipping.

Talking

Well, you can always arrange something - the guy (Mort) says he lives like 5 minutes away. A nice guy to work with. To get there, you need to get on Moody Street and go down the little "off-ramp". I've been there, it's trick but it's not that hard to figure out where they are...
