Default Help me out guys, I need advice for install.

Hey guys. I just got my amp, and Im getting my sub and box in by next week and I need some advice.

Amp - Alpine MRP-M450
Sub - Alpine 12" Type-S
12" Ported sub enclosure

Im keeping the factory 6-cd HU for now.

Should I............

1. Install myself by using the speaker level inputs on my amp

2. Install myself by getting a line out converter and run it off the rear speaker wires and into the rca inputs on the amp

or
3. Just take the damn things to a shop and get it done professionally.

I have an idea of how to do this but I would love some pictures or something just to make sure im doing it right. My friends know how, but Id rather do this myself although Im not really sure how to do this exactly because I cant really find a good, simple install tutorial lol. (I searched Offsets audio manifesto, google, crutchfield) Maybe someone has one I dont know about? =] I also heard that since my amp doesnt come with a bass control knob, if I use a LOC then I can control the bass from the factory HU. Is that true?

A loc will allow you to connect an aftermarket bass contol knob because it has RCA connectors the bass knob needs. A loc by itself will not allow you to control the bass from the HU any differntly than high level inputs on the amp. However, either way, since you're tapping the rear speakers for the SUB you will be able to control bass using the fader control(fading from rear to front) on the head unit.
