Default Benzene

I was interested in the product until I saw the Material data Safety Sheet that indicates a major ingredient is benzene. As someone has already pointed out, benzene is a carcinogen. Exposure to benzene is risky.

And several other carcinogens as well. Some argue the leaded gas is safer. 'Course, without going to unleaded we couldn't clean up the smog/emissions, so we picked the lesser of two evils.

You guys realize that the price was lowered from $77 + 10.50 shipping ... all the way down to $66 + 10.50 shipping .... (and that's their everyday price now)

if you haven't looked lately ... here's the link ...

I have a GB setup from those guys, but not being a vendor- not too sure how we can set this up- basically, if we get 30+ cases sold, we can get them for $65.00 shipped... DAS CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a quick update. I've been using Torco for about 2 tank fulls and a day at the drags. It's pretty good. 1.6bar of boost and no knock. That's a full 32oz. can in a full tank of 93. Approximately 100octane. I didn't lean it out and left timing the same because I didn't know the limits of it. I tried to get it to knock with boost but it wouldn't.

I changed my spark plugs shortly after. The tips of them are a reddish-orange color. What is that again? MMT deposits? Kenneth2000, are you getting those too? And are they harmful?

And if you guys are going to do a group buy, then contact me. I'll purchase 2 cases, maybe even more.

MMT will leave an orangish sediment/carbon type stuff ....

As long as it is not on the electrode, it should be fine ....

I wouldn't use the TORCO in the 1 can to 5 gallon concentration, as there will be much more MMT ... causing more of a build up .....

I have never got and miss fires, and my last 2 oil analysis reports are all within normal specs .......

I still miss my WRX!

This is in a WRX, not an STi, but still relevant to the discussion...

Last week I added one can of Torco unleaded race gas
concentrate to about 12 gallons of 92 octane. According to Torco,
this should get me in the neighborhood of 100 octane.

Using the UTEC, I started adding timing to my agressive street map.
This map is on the edge enough that if I have two people in the car
with me, I will get occasional detonation.

I created a few more maps with 1 degree more timing each to see what
the Torco would get me.

I ended up with +5 degrees more timing. At this point, I didn't
feel I wanted to push it anymore, but I did pull a half point of
fuel across the board as well.

Here are my results from the local dragstip on Saturday night:

Street map: 14.500 at 94.56, 2.152 60ft
Torco map (+5T, -.5F): 13.808 at 97.46, 1.918 60ft

The Torco map was quite a bit more bog resistant due to the extra
timing advance, thus the better 60ft. But look at the mph. +3 mph!

This stuff works and I didn't even find the limit, but I was getting nervous because my timing was getting into C16 territory.

Highly recommended for track use.

Yummy, I'm thinking about getting my car tuned on this stuff. I guess 1 can to 10 gal ratio. Sounds worth it.

I use half a can of torco in a full tank of 93 and it gives me about 95-96oct. It works wonders during this summer heat on my pump gas map.

I found a source for torco concentrate, and ordered up a 5 gallon drum for a hair under $150 shipped (ups hazmat). That works out to about $7.50 per quart (32oz). Sweeeeet. 55 gallon drums are about $1200, plus around $200 shipping, if anybody wants to do a "group buy"...... That works out to $6.36 a quart, so that's almost not worth the trouble, unless you ran it all the time.

100 octane all the time baby.....wooooot! At $2.42 a gallon! (32oz per 15 gal = 100 oct). At that mix, the drum will be enough to treat 300 gallons of gas, for aproximately 6000 miles of driving.

I use the leaded all the time, it seems to work even better, but I wouldn't suggest using it if you still have cats ....

My 02 sensor is still OK, and my oil analysis reports are still coming back fine, that's after running Torco every day for over 17,000 miles ....

Ehhh, I would, but I'll be running it 100% of the time, so this will only last me 6000 miles or so. Sorry.
