Default Clutch stuck to the floor?

I'm going to buy a 1998 2.5RS out in California, and the owner told me that during someone's test drive today, the clutch pedal totally stuck to the floor.

What could this be?

Air in the hydraulic clutch system- it just needs to be bled.

Either air as Brian said, or the master or slave cylinder totally failed. Definitely needs to be fixed before you can take a proper test drive, but by no means a deal-breaker if everything else is ok.

IIRC about $90 Canadian so that's about $65 US.. Not sure if a direct currency conversion applies to the pricing of automotive parts but it should be around that price...

BTW... If you replace the slave, I highly recomend replacing the clutch line as well.. about half the price of the slave...
