That would be sweet. Unfortunately, I highly doubt they will be ready to unveil it this soon. I live in the burbs of Chicago and have been going to the Chicago Auto Show every year and have been bugging every Subaru rep there about any info about this new WRX and STI redesign for years... no one ever knows anything... it is so unfortunate.

Hoping info comes out soon!

I think the better bet may be the NY auto show. however there are also subaru events being held before the week of the new york show. maybe they will have a unique preview at one of those events

I'm fully expecting the reveal to be NYIAS. I'm planning on going down with some buddies and it'd be really cool to see the new WRX up close in just over a month's time.

I'm positive it'll get leaked just before then.

The reps at most Auto Shows usually don't know much about future models. It's the engineers that you want to bump into at these shows. They always have juicy info to share.

i wish they would throw the STI guts in a legacy or make the WRX body a little longer so the back seat has more room.

I'll confess that I thought they would be closer than this since I thought the WRX had a spacious rear seat.

WRX
Rear Head Room 37.1 in.
Rear Hip Room 53.1 in.
Rear Leg Room 35.4 in.
Rear Shoulder Room 54.2 in.
Cargo 12.0 cu.ft.

Legacy
Rear Head Room 37.2 in.
Rear Hip Room 54.8 in.
Rear Leg Room 39.5 in.
Rear Shoulder Room 57.4 in.
Cargo 15.1 cu.ft.

Why would they reveal it in a country where it won’t even go on sale? Lol

That doesn't matter. It is one of the first major events since Covid. Manufacturers are showing there new stuff there including the GR FRS. Travis Pastrana brought the Gymkhana STI. Prodive has a full setup of all their 555 rally cars. F1 cars, drift cars, al things not for sale in the country. In addition, they have live coverage, and more journalists in one area at the moment then they have had in a year and a half. You don't need to sell a car in country, to appreciate the car.

Your opinion about this event is duly noted, Subaru still doesn’t give a crap. It’s never revealed a car there and it never will. And yes, it does matter, most of the “new car reveals” there are euro-focused-market cars. It’s like wondering why Ford didn’t reveal the Ranger Raptor in America? Because it’s not even coming over here that’s why..it’s not about appreciating, we appreciate cars exclusive to other areas all the time and vice versa, it’s simple marketing, business, and history. Plus, not to mention we already know the reveal will be later in the year…

So am I. Then again, I'm still waiting on Subaru to release that last gen WRX/STI vision/prototype/show car they showed off at NYIAS back in the day. I saw that thing in person and fell in love, I was seriously shocked. Then the production car came out and... welp, still got one, but didn't keep it long, got an RS (which is gone now), and now i'm waiting on the Golf R or STI.

It looks like it has eyes too small for its face. The rear doesn't look as bad as I thought it would, but it's because it just looks bland. If that's the final product for the wrx, it's very meh.

Grill too big. Lights too small. I’m out if the wrx looks like that.

Totally agree on the eyes too small, grille too big.

Front end's a freakin mess and it's just freakin ugly. They went in the exact wrong direction.

Current is a very aggressive design and a nod to the timeless Evo X. They could've kept that success and gone a step further with the aggression.

This just looks dumb. Disappoint.

It looks like this

So I guess it supports the new "Subaru = Dogs" theme.
