Did this all last night with no idea on how or what to do. So I went for it.
First did an oil change - Then started by adding my mishimoto sandwhich with sensors plugged in and hoses connected to the oil cooler and mounted it. Started working on my gauges . Had to sand and grind out this ATI pod I picked up from RSD from 52 to 60mm These are the DEFI BF gauges . Once that was done I started to wire them up. And here's a final pic of it mounted on the top. Took me a while to figure out where to run the sensors thru the firewall. But I eventually just found a hole behind the pedals and cleaned up all the wiring . Will get a photo in the day of the tuck & a pix of the oil cooler mounted.

http://www.amazon.com/Panavise-809-Camera-Window-Suction-Cup/dp/B000246ST6 GoPro should be beatin' for selling that thing. You'll need a GoPro Tripod adapter too. It is a much friendlier mount to use and stick great. |

Looks great Bootsy. What's the reasoning for the oil cooler? Were you seeing your temps getting too high?

Set up the oil cooler still iffy about it so I might just order a sandwich for my sensors instead. I'm scared my oil pump will go out from trying to pump the oil to the cooler and back. & it kinda does rough cold starts . Not sure if that's normal . Anyways ill be getting the brembo big break kit from RSD pretty soon here.

The car does require extra oil when installing an oil cooler.

More oil to fix the system but pressure shouldn't change much unless there's a leak. Anyways, just installed front big brake kit (thanks retrac) and waiting for new radiator to get here and koni shocks as well

YES! That'll be nice to see. The AKIC has a lot of unique cars. We all should do build threads.

decided to paint match the engine bay while motor was out got some used front and rear struts from paul at element auto and renewed it . Grind. Primer. Paint. Gold to match the gold wheels I plan on getting. Unsure at the moment. Favoring rpf1s over winter Wrinkle red the wrx manifold and cleaning the motor up while its all out Picked up two sets of dash. One from pauls part car and another from another part out. |

Gd dash conversion in gc8
Paul at Element Auto did the hard parts and did the whole beam conversion for me. And he did a Perfect job. During my test fit. Fit nicer than a lot of dash conversions ive seen. So thanks a lot for doing the hard part .. I still howver had to do some minkr fabricating to cut new holes for the heater core. For future reference anyone with the other Older 93-96 equipped manual windows that plan on doing the gd dash conver. the door panels will crush the dash. Ive spent days trying to find the research but couldnt find any info. Knew the only was to try it... So yahh, I had to scavenge a 1999 subaru impreza wagon partout with power doors for it to clear. Luckily everything is interchancgable .. manual door to power door conversion on the process. Need to rewire all the switches to operate. Yes I know the door panels arent in the best condtion and are TAN. Aint to worried about that at the moment. Main thing was getting all the guts and powered accessories installed and operation. Impreza gc bodies are parting out a dime a dozen here in alaska. Gonna paint these black for temporary use Last edited by ahsiet; 09-04-2013 at 04:07 AM. |

Got a bunch of other stuff I did. But yeah. To much to go into. Thats a glimpse of my update ^_^ .. debating about doing a big writeup on this project car of mine. Pretty much doing a whole Remake of the car from a 94 impreza L. Possibly in the future when all is done. Everything isnt bad at all. Just real time consuming. And reading a schematic is a must. Had to rewire some misc. Stuff
