BaysonR's new item - 02-07 WRX rear fender flare kit
As you guys remember Ebay seller BaysonR offers trunk lips and JDM rain visors.
I'm sure lots of you have his stuff installed. Recently he came up with new stuff - rear quarter panel flares (STI -like). Just ordered one set. $65 shipped, good deal considering those flares are made with Urethane. Will post pics after I paint it and install it.

why dont you just buy OEM subaru ones? they come painted from the factory, with the clips to install AND they're only $160

BaysonR's are shaped differently so they go flush with WRX bumper. If you get OEM STI ones you have to get STI bumper too otherwise back part of STI flare will be sticking out (STI bumper is slightly wider)

oh, I assumed they were identical. I was looking at the pic and since I didn't see the flares go into the bumper I assumed they just ended like the OEM one (hence needing the sti bumper). I'm not so sure how I feel about them ending there, even if it is beveled to end flush...I think the arch needs to be continued all the way around the wheel well to look proper. My 0.02. |

It's says won't fit sti but does that mean 05 and up or any sti
I'd like some for my 04 sti and don't wanna get an 05 bumper So I guess is the wrx bumper different than an 04 sti? |

Lets see it? Because their generic picture of a real '05-'07 STI says otherwise.

I have these, they are held on with double sided tape, and since made of urethane take shape very well.
They do go down all the way and cover up black dog leg piece. These do not sit flush with the wrx bumper, there is a 3/8 of an inch step. The link shows that the pieces are blunt on the end that would meet the bumper. Can provide pictures if needed. |

They're probably just replica STI ones. I got a set of real STI ones from the dealer, at a cost of about $110 each side, which came painted but STI's never came in Platinum Silver Metallic so I painted them myself with the OEM color. The OEM ones have double sided tape as well as 4 clips...you have to drill holes in the fender and it takes some skill to do it perfectly. I just pulled my rear bumper supports so that the bumper matches the flare but there is a small gap between the top of the bumper and rear quarter panel, but not horrible, especially since the flares match up to the body perfectly on the rest of the car. I also cut the inner lip and part of the body panel to fit my wider wheels/tires under there...has more clearance than rolling the fenders alone.

I should have those pieces by Thu, then it's gonna take me 1 day to paint it Hummer 2 white (yes, that's my color, not Scion white, long story). I'll post some pics of installed and painted parts by Sunday.

Subscribed for pics. Excited for a cheaper fender-flare alternative to having to buy the STI rear bumper in addition to the flares.

I had them on for a month or so now, it bothered me where the flare meets the bumper so I removed them tonight....
