Post Getting rid of RS and getting into...

I am getting rid of my RS and buying a '94 RX-7 twin turbo. RX-7 is my dream car and 165hp isn't doing it for me any more. Peace out you all. Even though you may hate me, I dont hate you...

i've always though that rx-7s were/are beautiful cars. curvy in just the right places. just have to make sure you keep up with the maintenance work.

It's a gorgeous car, but the 70+ vacuum hoses and fragile engine intolerant of typical American owner's neglect is something to worry about.

Have fun!

The 3G rx-7 is a very very sweet machine. However I do not advise you to buy it as adaily car as u will soon find that it is a very high maintenance car. If you can keep the RS for daily use and the rex (the real REX!) for weekend blast.
I'm still scouting for one myself!

That's funny... I'm selling my 93 RX-7 to get a 2001 RS impreza!

I live in Minnesota, so it makes an ass load more sence to me.

Plus, there are twice as much dirt roads as paved roads... so I will have more to choose from

I will be sad to see it go... but I know I will love the RS

Have fun with your new ride. those cars are tight. my friend is getting one in a month. those cars arnt that reliable but if you are a car enthusiast that shouldnt be something you will be worried about because you are going to make the car last and if it does brake down you will fix it thats what we kind of people do. anyways the main reason why rx7 are so unrealible is because the engine runs so hot it runs a lot hotter then 4 cylinders since it runs sooo hot the apex seal usually break but i was reading the new issue of turbo and they had a blitz rx7 putting out 598hp not sure how much how much psi but lots of it and was running quarter mile in the single digits of 9.8. on stock apex seals. once you replace the apex seals those cars are pretty reliable.

one well... three words actually

if you go high boost ever get your self some
CERAMIC APEX SEALS! sure they cost a stink load..~ 300 last time i checked quite a few but still..then you can boost it to stink and rev the snot out of it with a lot less worries about the seals blowing out on you which is the most common failure on a wankel

anyhow have fun with it and just a little tip...be carefull with 3rd gear..it has a tendancy to blow up after a lot of abuse for some strange reasons.

edit: for the cost that is $300 APEICE and you will need one for each section of rotar making 6 all together. 3 sections per rotar (section = chamber) and 2 rotors..so 6 total seals IIRC and 6 X 3 = $1800 BUT carbon costs around the same and personally i would much rather have the cermaic seals
the 93 is the most problemmatic of the 3rd series RX7 and in 94 they did fix a lot of the problems so just have fun with 'er

"those cars arnt that reliable"

Incorrect. The cars are high maintenance. A stock engine can be kept from blowing an apex seal by proper oil changes. They require them more often, and you gots ta make sure that the seals stay lubricated.

so what defines a car that is not reliable because all cars can be made reliable with the right treatment and the right amount of money. all cars need maintence so you are saying that all cars are reliable? you have to draw the line somewhere.

This Dr. is a known troll who cares little about us or Subaru's. He's only reason to post this message was to stir up some flames. Adios, Dr.
