Nice! good to know about the RCE setup, the non adjustable is a definite no-no..
My original plan was for Koni's but the back order for them in September was till November so in my search for any company that has them I came across the Stance Coliovers for $1100.

Can't wait to see your pictures of the front done (actually want to see how it looks now too) lol

No not at all. It isn't all that obvious really. I just went out and measured the wheel well height. Fronts are at 27ish and rears are a little above 26. So a little less than an inch of drop

You should really do a boost leak testing how-to at some point, nobody has done a writeup with pictures for the 09+ WRX style engine layout. The only ones out there are for the STI or older WRX which have a totally different intake setup.

I haven't looked into that but I guess if I had a compressor or a Boost Leak Kit I would definitely do a write up.
Hopefully I won't have a need to have it done for a while

It looks like I can make one pretty easily but without a compressor or vacuum pump i got nothing...

Hmmmm, I don't think I would say it was easy or that the paint was as flexible as I thought it would be.

The paint did crack but not where you think it would... The lip is perfect even though I basically flattened the fender and slightly pulled it too.
The paint cracked in two spots but only on one side and it's where the bead of silicone was. You cant see it but I know it's there. I can't see how it could have been avoided because the paint was really soft and heated well.

A simple sand and touch up will be fine but If I were to do it again I would have paid someone else to do it. My nerves are so shot just waiting for the paint to crack in an obvious spot.

i've had my roller since last summer and tried to roll it then, once i started to break the paint over the silicone i stopped. its seems that its inevitable the paint will crack in that area so i'm going to give it another try. once i get the lip flat i plan to clean it up and spray some rubberize undercoating on it to prevent it from rusting, maybe something to consider. did you also find it hard to get the roller started? that's when i found the paint was most likely to crack because of the angle of the roller and the lip, i'll probably use a hammer to get the lip started then bust out the roller.

looks great though, nice job, post more pics if you have em.

I've seen a couple videos of people using the hammer to start the lip bend but that totally scared me... There definitely was a cracking sound when I started by the bead of silicone that that goes away quickly. It's not actually cracking the paint yet, haha
I already purchased a can of undercoating, it's a great idea for the areas that may have cracked that I didn't even see.
I'm working on a video that I shot during the entire roll process, I haven't looked at it yet but I'm hoping it'll show the details need to answer a lot of questions.

Also I used a hair dryer on the backside to keep the temp up while I was rolling in addition to the heat gun in the front. I think it helped just because I did it on a cold day.

Yeah, I love learning new mods and saving money by doing things myself but after this one I was wishing I just took it to a shop and paid the $150-$200 to have them worry about it.
Too bad the closest one is about a 6 hour round trip.

It's done though but wouldn't do it again..

Overland, all I can say is you convinced me to get a WRX. I can't get enough of your car and I have just been lurking reading through this entire thread for the last 3 hours. KEEP IT GOING!

Going to be trying to follow some of your footsteps on my ... quite small... budget.

tell me about it... my protuned stage 1 wrx is about to go under the knife tomorrow too. i've been following overland04 and xluben's threads, drooling about stage 2 for months. my tuner convinced me to go with a q300 catless TBE, AEM intake and GS EBCS. after some research and paranoia, i also decided to go with the SMY cluster, AEM UEGO & boost gauges, PW TMIC and GFB BOV and dyno tune (dynojet). my initial thoughts of a $700ish stage 2 upgrade (DP, EBCS & road tune only) quickly went to astronomical amounts!!!!!!!!

Start with the short shifter and front/rear bushings! I just finished the install today and its a huge difference. A bit more noise, but its worth the improved shift feel.

Tell ME about it...haha. I was initially in the "maybe I'll do a stage 1 map someday" when I first ordered my WRX. Now 1 week into ownership, I've already made mechanical and cosmetic changes and I'm in the "Can't wait to go straight to Stage 2" phase.

You guys are awesome!!

That's why I love doing this stuff. I have no idea where the money comes from and I'm sure I should be spending it other more important things but I just can't stop working on this car!!
Every time I say, okay this is that last mod for a looooong time... Then within two days I'm looking to do something else and also trying to figure what I can sell to buy this new "got to have" item.

It's an addiction!

You would be so surprised how much cheaper it is by learning form other peoples mistakes. There are so many things I would do different to save money or at least not waste as much money.

I'm a sucker for trail and error.

Thanks for hanging out on here though!
