Default No Limit Lake County, IL Thread : Thrice the Fail!

We meet every week on Thursday around 7:30. On occasion we move the meet to a different day based on birthdays and Holidays. I want to have all of our meets in one thread so I'll update this first post as we go. This is for all of Lake County, IL meet planning, including cruises, install day, car shows, and shop days, etc. information.

July 29, 2010 @ 7:30 p.m.

Save it for the track. Please be respectful when in the parking lot. It is NOT your property so please treat it with respect. No scoobnuts, burnouts, flame throwing, BOV or stereo competitions, or other such asshattery.

Also, this is a family restaurant so think about others when you're about to drop the F-bomb.

A third thread?
Anyway, before the clean up you guys were talking about oil changes. How important is it to replace that crush washer on the drain plug? I bought one for my first oil change but couldnt get the old one off. This morning when I did my second change I tried to get it off again but to no avail. My auto teacher said that as long as it hasn't leaked yet it should be fine. I atleast want to change it on my third oil change so do you guys know of anyway to get it off easilly? Maybe use an x-acto knife?

Candor's method would be a hammer and chisel.

But honestly, I have no clue. Wait for the Gurang to chime in. He's the expert on crush washers.

I've never had issues with the crush washer getting stuck. I replace mine every oil change. Other reuse them about 5 or 6 times. Use whatever you need to use to get them off.

I liked the old title
I just replace the crush washer every time i change the oil, sometimes i have trouble getting the filter itself off by hand so a pair of channel locks work nicely for that

This reminds me i have change my oil soon

I successfully changed my oil today!

Hopefully I wake up in the morning and see no oil on the ground.

Is this too off-topic?

Mark, can you PM me some websites on where to buy what we talked about? Also is there a big difference between a roof mount nmo and trunk mount?
