Was just thinking
I never recorded the Watergate duty cycle on these pulls or the actual delta temps before and after the intercooler. The temps of intake vs intake manifold I don't think are accurate enough to draw conclusions. I could be wrong though. They dont take into consideration the engine bay warming up due to the pulls and the heatsoak of other parts inline with the air. The depo shows improvement in temps alone. Not a drastic improvement but an improvement nevertheless. Would want a side by side with another intercooler such as grimmspeed or killer b. But I doubt that is in the cards. Maybe I will get some more pulls in of stock vs depo with wastegate duty and other stuff. I still feel a dyno would show the most accurate results. If anyone has input on what to datalog, let me know.

The depo TMIC is a yay for stage 1 stage 2 ots maps or etune I'd say if you live in a cooler state or commute on the highway mostly. I bought one for the thread and the manifold temps are steadily 20 degrees cooler than the stock once rolling and tx has been 98 degrees or hotter with 70% or more humidity. That being said I am selling mine with process west chargepipe for 450 + PayPal .. ikr, but after talking to AWDTuning the only way I will see real benefit from the KBheaders I ordered is to go fmic so my loss your gain if anyone is interested

I just bought this myself and will be attempting to install tomorrow. Any advice? Did you have any luck lining up everything? What did you do to make the engine cover fit? I would really appreciate any info, thank you in advance!

I ordered one last week but won’t be able to put it on in 2-3 weeks. I think you can cut the fins under the engine cover to make it fit. Hopefully someone else can chime in to correct me if I’m wrong? |

So I finished up my flex fuel etune with Ron and he said it’s better than stock, but not as good as the tmic he recommends. On my beat it logs (3mins of hard driving with wot highway pulls) the intake manifold temps would stick around the ambient temp and never got above 30 deg over the ambient temp when coming off throttle. So In my opinion, it’s a decent upgrade over the stock tmic for the price. For what it’s worth I ended up making 370/355 on the virtual dyno. (Yes I know, virtual dyno numbers are to be taken with a grain of salt). |
