Help, can't find part for boost gauge
I bought the Defi HUD boost gauge kit. The T-fitting that comes with it is too loose for the WRX. So I need a 1/4, 1/4, with 1/8 (middle) T-connector. 1/4 Connector for WRX side, 1/8 connector for sender unit. I've been to 5 auto parts stores (including 2 different napa's) in the area and they all look at me like ***. Haven't been to pep boys, the nearest one to me is Nashua and will try that when I have a free weekend to dedicate a long trip to and see if they have it. Can anyone recommend a decent store in the boston area that might have this part? Online even?
Thanks! No univeral connector either, please! They had this universal connector that you can cut down to size, but the size drops from like 1/16 to 1/4 and the holes are internal holes are small even for the 1/4 size on this connector, then the chamber opens up, causing what I think is some kind of turbluance because the readings I get from this universal connector is whacked! Boost goes starts to increase as I accelerate above 1000 rpm, but above 2000 rpm it goes more negative.

I have the same problem (so no solution here in this post ). But I am currently using the universal T as a temporary solution. I clamped all the 1/4 inch ends and all is well.
I tried to find metal T's of that size and came empty handed from various auto-parts stores (yes, the glazed look ). I do know that Omori sells a brass T that fits. (part # P-94) But they charge $12 for it... Let me know if you found a good solution. take care, - Alex |

I just used very small hose clamps, but then again I'm not sure where you tapped into. Mine is tapped off the manifold.

That's weird. The piece I got with my Defi boost gauge worked just fine.

Try a hardware store. I found all sorts of weird fittings at Sears Hardware when I was putting the boost controller in my Galant.

Home Depot also has a good selection of Ts and adapters in the plumbing section.

I found various T fittings (plastic and then I used hose clamps) at the Pep Boys in Dedham off of Rte 1. You might want to try them.
Good luck! |

Did some more running around last week.
Hardware store... No Sears... No Home Depot... No Would up going to Pep Boys in Nashua, got 1/4-1/4-1/4 T connector then a 1/4-3/16 connector and did it that way. Now to figure out if I hooked up the illumination wire corrector. The HUD is impossible to see during dusk, and it doesn't adjust when you adjust the rest of interior brightness. |

Also, you can't change how dim/light it is with the rest of the interior lights. It's either full bright, or partial. The wire only tells it to run in dim mode. -John |

That's good to know that there's only one dim mode, so maybe I did pick the right wire, providing that orange 'illumination -' doesn't make it brighter. |

If you can see it fine during the daytime, then you hooked it up correctly. I remember not being able to see it if it was raining and I had my lights on. It gets alot darker.
